Review submitted for Aeon Labs Z-Wave Home Energy Meter - DSB09104 (AEONDSB09104)
Pros: It paired easily with my Almond+ router. It is able to communicate through 2 floors (basement to second story) when using the USB power supply. The price was great.
Cons: It was a tight fit getting the clamps around my power lines in the main breaker box. It is not the latest model.

Review submitted for Aeon Labs DSB09104 - Home Energy Meter (1st Edition) 3-Pack Bundle (E2AEONDSB09104)
Pros: This energy monitor lets you see your total home energy usage in real time. I use it with a Samsung Smartthings hub and I have set it to notify me when energy usage is very high. I have not doubt this energy monitor will pay for itself many times with the savings I will get.
Cons: I had to update the firmware to get it to work correctly. I also had to find a device handler that would work with it.
Other Comments: When I had difficulty at first, I thought the item was defective and I contacted Buydig.com. They promptly told me I could return the item for a full refund. It's nice to deal with a company that stands behind the products they sell.

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Z-Wave Home Energy Meter - DSB09104 (AEONDSB09104)
Pros: The product is pretty much an install and forget kind of product. I haven't had any reliability issues like some other Home Automation
Cons: Instructions are non-existent.
Other Comments: the "pair" button is inside the device near where batteries get inserted. It has no label. Took me a while to figure out I needed to hold it down till flashing, then try to have Smartthings discover a new device.

4 out of 5 stars   Works good but was difficult to squeeze it into the gang box
By Dave on January 24, 2017

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Micro Smart Energy Switch (2nd Edition) - DSC18103 (AEONDSC18103)
Pros: You can use it to convert a passive light switch to a Z-wave controlled light switch for a little less than it would cost to replace the switch with a full on Z-wave switch. Or, you can use the Smart Energy Switch standalone, in which case you will only be able to control it via your Z-wave network.
Cons: Although it is fairly small (about 1.5"x1.5"x.5") it can be difficult to squeeze into a gang box with existing switches and wires.

Review submitted for Aeon Labs 2-Pack of Z-Wave Smart Energy Switch Minimote DSA03202-V1 (E1AEONMINIMOTE)
Pros: Easy to program on my VeraPlus Reliable and just work every time Small but control up to 8 scenes
Cons: None
Other Comments: Bought 2 of these several months ago and they worked so well I got 2 more. It has 4 buttons, each of which can activate one scene with a short pess of the button, and another if you hold the button down for a second or so. I mostly use it to control lights, either singly or in a group. A short click press to turn on and a long press to turn off.

5 out of 5 stars   Easy Set-up and worked great
By MattyB on October 20, 2016

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Z-Wave Smart Energy Switch Minimote DSA03202-V1 (AEONMINIMOTE)
Pros: Easy to set-up Light Weight Multiple functions Back lit buttons Worked with Smarthings
Cons: None as of yet
Other Comments: You typically have to access your home automation through your phone or tablet but with this device you can use easily pick up the remote to perform the desired function. For example I use it for my Smartthings outlet which has my lamp plugged into it so when I press the button it turns on my lamp. The old way involved me getting up and pressing the button on the remote or using my phone.

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-wave Smart Switch 6 - ZW110 (AEONZW096)
Pros: - small - led light helps
Cons: - can block another plug on the wall socket - a little bit expensive depending on application
Other Comments: Well worth it if you need a powerful scheduling regimen from a smart hub. It's relatively trouble free.

5 out of 5 stars   Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6
By JNT on September 26, 2016

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Wave Multi-Sensor 6 - ZW100A (AEONZW100A)
Pros: Works with the Samsung SmartThings system. Only device I could find to monitor humidity. Battery or USB power With SmartThings or similar, sends alerts to smart phone and allows real time status view Status shows remaining battery life
Cons: None so far
Other Comments: After five weeks, my four sensors are still working well with the Samsung SmartThings system. The Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6 monitors six different conditions and it is the only device I could find to monitor humidity. I bought four sensors to monitor humidity in various parts of my house after a mildew infestation. Battery or USB power allows me to move them around and place them in difficult locations without wires. They were easy to setup and pair with my SmartThings hub. Realize that everything is done thru the internet gateway device and its software. I have a good experience with Samsung SmartThings but other systems are available. If you have problems it is likely here, not with the Aeotec Multi-Sensor 6. Also, sensor to hub distance and shielding might limit your application. I have no problems with distances of 60ft thru several steel stud walls.

5 out of 5 stars   Great Z-Wave Garage Opener
By jllcam on June 11, 2016
Verified Purchase
Review submitted for Aeon Labs Z-Wave Smart Energy Switch Minimote DSA03202-V1 (AEONMINIMOTE)
Pros: Having integrated my garage door lifters on my Z-Wave network, wanted to try one of these as a garage door remote after one of our standard ones started failing, and also because the materials/shape of my garage made the effective range of the standard opener pretty small- the car had to be literally no more than 5' away and even then I had to point the remote just right, so this became an ongoing frustration for me and my family as our driveway is at a pretty sharp incline. This thing works great! It's no bigger but much lighter than a standard opener, and at our particular location has a range of about 2.5 houses away. Only downside is that have to use 2 separate actions for opening and closing (tap vs. hold), but that is a limitation of the Z-Wave lifter, and actually I've begun to enjoy this difference as it prevents accidental closings. So anyway, very happy with this!
Cons: Battery not replaceable.

5 out of 5 stars   Works great with SmartThings
February 18, 2016

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Smart Energy Switch - DSC06106 (AEONDSC06106)
Pros: ... when SmartThings decides to work. Power monitoring is a nice added bonus to on/off automation features. Physically, the device is deceptively small. No hums.
Cons: The pigtail cords are very stiff and thick. I'm worried about strain relief in the long term. It would be nice if the male plug could articulate instead of just being stuck at a static angle.

5 out of 5 stars   Knowledge is POWER!
By Chris S. on February 18, 2016

Review submitted for Aeon Labs Smart Energy Switch - DSC06106 (AEONDSC06106)
Pros: Device is easy to pair with SmartThings, and provides a wealth of information. I had no idea my spare refrigerator used 148W, and constantly runs throughout the day!!! I bought 2, and discovered that a chest freezer is 4.14x more efficient than that old refrigerator!
Cons: Now that I know how much electricity my basement refrigerator uses, I have to make a decision if the savings is worth the $174.37 cost of the electricity.
Other Comments: Oh yeah, I can turn it off and on too! Also, it remains in the state prior to power removal... So if it's on, it will stay on when the power returns. (Very important if you're monitoring a refrigerator or freezer!)

Pros: Fast and reliable when controlling remotely using Vera app with my smartphone or with Minimote. No problem pairing with VeraLite and VeraEdge controllers. I find the energy usage useful as well. I like the corded and flat design that easily goes into an outlet behind a bookshelf.
