Review submitted for Alesis DM8 Pro Kit Professional Five-Piece Electronic Drumset (ALESISDM8PRO)
Pros: Portable, Easy To Use, Extensible, Price, Versatile, Responsive, High Quality Drum Sounds
Cons: High Hat is electronic, Pads are not silent
Other Comments: I bought this kit to ferry between home and band practice. My acoustic kit is too big and unwieldy to break down and move twice a week every week. It's done a great job so far; I've amplified it through whatever speakers were laying around and some of the samples are very high quality. The feel is not as good as playing real drums, particularly the high hat, but of all the electronic high hats I've tried out in stores (including Roland's offerings) this kit has the best. It's also half the price of the cheapest Roland kit, which makes up for the feel of the heads. Programming it is a bit tedious through the interface on the module, but it is doable and there's plenty of room for customization. Some of the presets are good, though they could be better organized.

Review submitted for Alesis DM8 Pro Kit Professional Five-Piece Electronic Drumset (ALESISDM8PRO)
Pros: Good Value for the Money
Cons:
Other Comments: The kit is lightweight, yet sturdy. The sound selection is good, the head response is better than the Roland mesh heads, and it is a good kit for the money. I play an accoustic kit at church and personally use this kit to practice on at home. The feel translates over very well. I would suggest trying other makes to make a comparison before buying to make sure it is right for you. I like this kit as good as the more expensive Roland kits I have played in the past.

Pros: High Quality Drum Sounds, Simple to set up, Easy To Use
Cons: Can't find any yet
Other Comments: I am a novice at best on drums, and this is my first set of electronic drums. It was easy to set up and going through the features with the manual has been pretty easy so far.I've never played another electronic kit,so I can't compare it.Everything seems very sturdy and well built.I will be adding an amplifier to it soon,I use headphones and play along with my Ipod for now and it sounds great.I'm very satisfied with the amount of "bang for the buck" I got with this kit and I would recommend it.

Pros: Easy To Use, Responsive, Versatile, High Quality Drum Sounds
Cons:
Other Comments: At the current price, this kit is a no-brainer. The pads can be fairly easily and cheaply converted to great mesh pads (plenty of instructions on the web)-http://www.hellfiredrums.com/archives/803-for instance. The module is easy to use, has countless tweaking options for every instrument/kit and very decent sounds I am not using the rack (I have a much sturdier Gibraltar) and the pad clamps are stiff and not my favorites, but all in all a fantastic buy at a fraction of the cost you'd expect!

Pros: High Quality Drum Sounds, Responsive
Cons:
Other Comments: I have this set up in the bedroom. It's compact, versatile, looks great and sounds awesome. It took very little time to set up. I have it hooked into the computer with the midi/usb so recording is a breeze. I definitely recommend this to others looking for an electronic set.

Pros: Easy To Use, Responsive, High Quality Drum Sounds
Cons:
Other Comments: I'm getting back into drumming after many years. Working my way to becoming a back up for our praise band and maybe someday the main drummer. Our band has the DM10 with the real looking cymbals but I like the cymbals that came with this set much better. The rubber doesn't have that tic sound when you hit them like the gold ones. Very good product.

Review submitted for Alesis DM8 Pro Kit Professional Five-Piece Electronic Drumset (ALESISDM8PRO)
Pros: Responsive, Easy To Use, High Quality Drum Sounds, Awesome Set
Cons: Needs better instructions, No Instruction DVD
Other Comments: Great looking kit, easy to assemble. Frame could be a little longer (4-6inches) and taller (4inches) to provide more flexibility. Still learning instructions, would be much better with a DVD instruction with videos to show how to navigate the features. Overall sound & drum sound options are awesome once you dial in the sensativity settings. Still alot to learn as this set offers so many features. Since it is expandable I will be adding another cymbal soon, one crash is just not enough.
