Review submitted for Acer B286HK ymjdpprz 28-inch UHD 4K2K (3840 x 2160) Widescreen Monitor with ErgoStand (ARB286HK)
Pros: I recently bought two of these monitors for an X99 workstation I bought after returning two Dell 4K P2815Qs that were only capable of 30Hz, which ended up being very displeasing to the eye. (Resulting in slower mouse responsiveness and the inability to watch videos at frame rates higher than 24fps - a big no no for an editor) Here's what I love about these monitors: - 4K @ 60Hz - Great color reproduction for a TN panal - 28" screen gives you a lot of real estate to work with - Ergonomics have a nice sleek look - A wide variety of ports (HDMI, DP, mini DP, DVI-D) - USB 3.0 on the side of the monitor makes it easy to plug in external drives - Anti-glare screen isn't even phased by the light that directly shines through my window - Easy setup with clear instructions
Cons: Many applications aren't yet 4K ready which presents a scaling issue, but this isn't a problem with the monitor. This is something that will occur with any 4K monitor regardless of whether you use Mac or PC. This will definitely be much less of an issue in the years to come when more app developers add 4K capabilities to their applications. Luckily Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Davinci Resolve, Logic X and many other content creation applications are 4K ready and do not have this problem.
Other Comments: Overall great buy for people looking to watch 4K movies, new 4K youtube videos, edit 4K footage, or just have an ultra crispy screen resolution.
