Pros: -high quality feel
-fingerprint resistant coating on the screen actually works
-easy OS updates (4.4.2) at present
-excellent touch response
-excellent wifi range (I can see my neighbor's wifi 3 houses away that I didn't even know was there with my old tablet)
-fast, smooth transition effects, graphics and video (for the smoothest transition effects get a different launcher like the free Nova Launcher on Google Play)
-video plays smoothly and it plays every format imaginable (get the free MX Player from Google Play for the best compatibility)
-tablet runs cool and the battery life is the best I've had. If you experience short life or it dies quickly while in standby you probably have a runaway app eating it up in the background. Get something like Watchdog Lite to see what's going on the background and uninstall the offending widget or app.
Cons: -The speakers are good, but that's all. The rest of the tablet is excellent so the speakers stand out as less than the rest. They are more than usable but when I'm home I end up using an external blue tooth speaker when I'm watching a video for deeper bass and overall richer sound.
-No microSD card slot. This can be remedied with something like the Meenova adapter for $12.
-No built in HDMI out. This can be remedied with a slimport adapter for about $15-$20.
Other Comments: I've owned or used them all from phones to Ipads to the supercheap Android tablets. This is my favorite to date. I hear an 8 inch model may be in the works, personally I prefer the 7 inch size of this one as it can be held easily in one hand, roughly the width of a paperback book. The Ipad Mini is 8 inch and it's hard to hold the same way.
