Review submitted for Bell and Howell FE14M-N 14mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Aspherical Super Wide Angle Fisheye Lens for Nikon (BH14MN)
Pros: Lightweight, Strong Construction
Cons: NOT SO SHARP
Other Comments: You can't beat this for the money! I tested it on D800 but only in the field. My conclusions: Cons: - heavy distortions but not so hard to correct - softer than I hoped and the output a little mushy but there was no review of it paired with a 30+ Mpx body, so this was expected. Cannot be compared with 50mm f/1.4G or 85mm f/1.8G. Sharper starting around f/4 Pros: - good contrast - not so bad vignetting @f/2.8 - easy to focus (large D0F) + it has a focus confirmation chip which is also useful - it works in all modes: M, A, S, P, and there's no need to set the aperture manually: just put it at the minimum f/22 and everything will be automatic except focus :D It's not exceptional but for its price/quality it's phenomenal!

Pros: Durable, Strong Construction, No CA, Sharp, Easily Interchangeable, Rugged, Nice Bokeh
Cons: No hyperfocal scale, Distance scale is wrong
Other Comments: Overall this is a very good ultra-wide lens for the price. Well made, very solid construction, sharp from corner to corner, even on full format camera. Remember, this is all mechanical, manual focus lens, so there is no autofocus. Not a big deal for such an ultrawide lens. There is just one problem with this lens: the focusing distance scale on the lens is wrong and it does not have a depth of field scale, so you can't focus based on distance or use the hyperfocusing method. It's very easy to resolve these shortcomings. I made several test shots and found my lens will take sharp pictures from nearby distance to infinity when the distance scale is on 0.7 meters with aperture f8.0.
