Pros: Lightweight, Good value, Easy To Use, Reliable
Cons: Not Enough Zoom
Other Comments: I really enjoy shooting sunsets and clouds with this lens. Gives me just enough extra field of vision to get some nice broad effects. I'm also shooting trees, bushes, mushrooms, etc. at different angles with nice results.
I just wish it had a little more zoom for panorama type photos.

Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Sharp at all focal length, Lightweight

Other Comments: I wanted an all purpose/take anywhere prime lens for my Canon Rebel XS. I tried out both the 28mm 1.8 and the 28mm 2.8. The 1.8 is superb but roughly twice the weight and cost of the 2.8. Performance of the 2.8 is excellent and meets my needs perfectly. On the APS-C size format it gives a good general use 44mm equivalent focal view.
