PIXMA MP280 All-In-One Photo Printer
(CNMP280)
Pros: Reliable, Easy To Use, Easy To Set Up
Cons: Slow Print Time, Too much ink used
Other Comments: I was using a $300 Epson Artisan 835 and the scanner broke in the printer so the printer would not let me print just because of the broken scanner. So stupid. Anyway, so I really needed to print some full color text/graphic flyers and didn't feel like spending another $300 on a printer so I went on [@]and found a brand new mp280 for [$] so I said why not give it a try and and once I set it up, the quality surprised me. The full color print outs were nearly as good as the Epson Artisan, about 95% identical (using the slow High Quality mode). The faster normal mode created banding in the pure black background print outs which didn't fly with me at all. For[$] I really can't complain at ALL. The negatives that I miss from my epson artisan is that it could print closer to the edge of the paper (about 0.2 inches closer), a duplexer that could print double sided automatically, my continuous ink system that I bought for it, a WiFi connection and faster print speeds. If you don't print that much and don't care about it's speed it really is a good printer, especially for the price. This thing does use up ink pretty fast especially if you are printing full color prints with a lot of pure black backgrounds. When I was using the Epson Artisan, I purchased a continuous ink system that save me literally like 800 dollars from buying regular cartridges. I was really sad I couldn't use it in the Canon but after checking the UltraGamut.com website I found out that they DO carry a Canon PIXMA MP280 continuous ink system so I have one on order and can't wait to get it!
