I decided to disable the flash after the 2nd day, and although there isn't image stabilization built in, as long as I had a steady hand, the quality of the photos was outstanding. Also, the time to power on the camera and the time to snap a photo was very fast. I had this tiny camera in my pocket and I'd whip it out in an instant, power it on and capture the moment. I love the way the different photos turned out - at night, in direct sun, indoors, in low light - and the only manual adjustment I ever really made was the exposure level when there were extreme shadows mixed with bright light. And the macro mode is just amazing. Closeup shots from even an inch away are so detailed, so well-focused, it just blows me away. And the depth recognition is uncanny, since it seems to know where to focus to get the best shots, whether it's a group of people, one person, or a building in the distance, or a combination of these things. It's just an overall great camera to have handy for any event, and for traveling, since it's so small and easy to use. I give it two thumbs way up and five stars.
