Verified Purchase Review submitted for Celestron 10x42 Binocular (Black) - 71372 (CT10X4271372) Pros: Quality Lenses, Waterproof, Lightweight, Close Focus Cons: Poor Construction, Difficult To Focus Other Comments: I have been a Celestron spotting scope user for many years, but I was disappointed with 3 aspects of the binoculars themselves: 1. There is play in the focus knob! Focus movement should be crisp, tight, and immediate, but the lag caused by play in the wheel is an annoying feature, making the binoculars seem cheap and poorly made. 2. The eyecups do not stay in place. They twist easily out of position while in use, causing misalignment between the two eyes' focal depth. 3. The metal strap loops on both sides of the binoculars are located such that they dig into the knuckle of the index fingers. I have had to adjust to a less-natural holding position to avoid this discomfort. A positive note is that the neck strap is padded and more comfortable than other straps I've used during my 30 years of birding. The harness that came with the binoculars, though, is made of cheap material. With some simple attention to these important details, the binoculars could be so much better than they are.
