Review submitted for Celestron 71319 - Nature 8x30 Porro Binocular (Black) (CT71319)
Pros: Great for Birds, Landscapes and just saw moons of Jupiter---couldn't ask for more.
Cons: None so far----I've only had them about a month.
Other Comments: great Bino's from a reputable company at a great price. I even made a home made tripod to hold them.

5 out of 5 stars   Celestron 'Nature' 8x30 Binoculars

Review submitted for Celestron 71319 - Nature 8x30 Porro Binocular (Black) (CT71319)
Pros: Lightweight, Quality Lenses, Bright Images, Compact, Waterproof, Perfect collimation, Strong Construction
Cons: None
Other Comments: These fully multi-coated 8x30 binos are superbly bright for the price. Light throughput is excellent; field edges are sharp with minimal distortion. The most important thing is: collimation was PERFECT. Even on dim stars at night. Slightly miscollimated binos will exhibit good collimation because the brain will "force" the two images together but they will fail on dimmer stars. My pair of 8x30's exhibited perfect collimation--most binos in this price range don't, I have found. (And the collimation is not adjustable on less expensive binos, usually.) A sample size of one proves little, but if all the Chinese-made Nature models are this good I'd recommend them to anyone not willing to spend $500 or up on a set of binos. For all except the most hardcore bird and wildlife watchers. I rated these a "5", since I compare them to other binoculars in this price range, not to $1,000 models which no doubt would be slightly brighter and crisper, especially at twilight.

1 out of 5 stars   Poor Quality "Twist Up" Eyecups.

Review submitted for Celestron 71319 - Nature 8x30 Porro Binocular (Black) (CT71319)
Pros: Close Focus, Waterproof
Cons: Poor Construction
Other Comments: Decent enough optical performance for economy binoculars, I would have been happy and not returned them except for the poor quality "twist up" eyecups. The eyecups were the "deal breaker" for me, the build quality of the eyecups is as cheap as cheap gets.
