Review submitted for Cuisinart Classic 2-Quart Whistling Kettle (CUIBA170)
Pros: Boils Quickly, Clear Boiling Indicator, Tight Lid, Comfortable Grip
Cons:
Other Comments: I use the teakettle make tea and other needs for boiling water! The size is perfect for my needs as well as looking good in the kitchen. Of course the cost of the teakettle, service and delivery is always a great incentive to shop at Beach Camera.

Review submitted for Cuisinart Classic 2-Quart Whistling Kettle (CUIBA170)
Pros: Tight Lid, Boils Quickly, Comfortable Grip, Does Whistle
Cons:
Other Comments: PRODUCT USED MAINLY FOR INSTANT COFFEE AND OCCASIONAL CUP OF TEA. LOVE THE SPOUT, NO DRIPS, HANDLE IS COOL AND IT DOES MAKE A WHISTLE, MORE LIKE A TRAIN, NOT SHRILL WHICH I LIKE. LOOKS GREAT ON THE STOVE WHERE IT STAYS 24/7. ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE, IT IS A LITTLE LARGE FOR A CUP OR TWO OF COFFEE BUT NICE FOR A POT OF TEA FOR COMPANY. NOT A BIG PROBLEM.

4 out of 5 stars   decent kettle bad whistle design
By John on November 18, 2012
Review submitted for Cuisinart Classic 2-Quart Whistling Kettle (CUIBA170)
Pros: Comfortable Grip, Boils Quickly
Cons: Handle Too Hot
Other Comments: it heats up quickly enough. If you fill it with les than 3 cups it won't whistle because the whistle is in the lid.I also found the handle is hot when you boil the full 2 quarts. I was looking for A whistling kettle & I guess Cuisinart was trying to give A whistling kettle with A good spout.

Review submitted for Cuisinart Classic 2-Quart Whistling Kettle (CUIBA170)
Pros: Comfortable Grip, Tight Lid, Very good lines classic, Clear Boiling Indicator, Boils Quickly
Cons:
Other Comments: I like to brew coffee with the manual pour over method. The kettle I had was sturdy, heavy and had a whistle. But its spout dripped unmercifully through the whole procedure, ie; the wetting of the grounds and the slow pouring that followed. Plus, its weight was getting hard on my old shoulder. When I saw this Cusinart on line I thought it might do the trick, even though some customer reviews faulted it for having a whistle that did not work. When it came, and I tried it, sure enough, the whistle did not work. But I fiddled with it, and after some trial and error, I reckoned that the force of steam was running towards the spout, depriving the whistle in the kettle lid from being activated. So, I snapped the lid on with the slots for the whistle facing front, towards the spout. And that did the trick. I was rewarded with a slow hum that grew into a harmonious blend of tones that was loud enough to be heard in another room. The bonus was that there was no shrieking, just an easy to take chord. As for the coffee brewing, it worked to perfection with no drips and the pouring easily controlled. Note bene: the kettle heats very quickly and care should be taken to keep the flame on medium to avoid licking the sides of the kettle, causing an unremovable discoloration. I used thirty eight ounces of water for my purposes which came up to the inside opening of the spout. This is a good looking item, graceful and shiny. But it is not heavy duty. Care must be taken against hard knocks. Also, I noticed that it doesn't always empty completely. If accurate measurement is a must, it's best to keep at it till you're sure.

4 out of 5 stars   Good looking kettle that whistles

Review submitted for Cuisinart Classic 2-Quart Whistling Kettle (CUIBA170)
Pros: Clear Boiling Indicator, Boils Quickly, Tight Lid, Comfortable Grip
Cons:
Other Comments: It's a good looking kettle, one of the best IMO. I bought a predecessor version of this kettle from Williams & Sonoma stamped with the W&S logo, and the plastic handle on the lid started cracking (about 10 years old). This kettle does not have the heavier bottom plate like the W&S version, and it seems lighter and cheaper in general (hence 4-stars), but it's still a good looking, comparatively inexpensive classic kettle that whistles.
