Pros: This is a nice machine. I have made a few ice creams, but I still need to try the fruit sorbets. If you have everything all chilled, it is really quick to make. It is a little noisy, but not bad as long as you expect it, and it doesn't run that long. I was afraid of a refurbished item, but I am very pleased about the outcome
Cons: Needing to chill the bowl so long limits the options.

Pros: Does what it is supposed to do.
Cons: Have to freeze the bowl in the freezer (but then you knew that going in). Just a bit noisy.
Other Comments: I don't know if I love it as the definition of five stars designates but feel I must give the machine it's due as it does exactly what it says it will do. I haven't made ice cream yet but have made four different sorbets and the results have been excellent and the future promising. Whatever you throw into the freezer bowl, twenty minutes later you will have a very nice frozen confection. You may need to leave it in the freezer awhile and before serving warm in the refrigerator for ideal texture. Come to think of it, for thirty bucks, I guess it does deserve five stars!

Pros: I love this machine! I have made all kinds of ice cream: Vanilla, coconut, peach, raspberry, strawberry and coffee. I love them all! One of the nicest things about making fresh ice cream is you know what goes into it. Secondly, you can control the amounts or kinds of sweetener you use. I love using honey. I have found that if you heat all the ingredients before making the ice cream and let them sit over night, the flavors are more intense. I can't always wait! I love the size of the ice cream produced- as if it made more I'd eat more. Great desert treat for a small gathering of friends.
Cons: The only thing I don't like about the machine is the noise. It can be a bit loud. That being said, it's an awesome machine. I turn it on, take the dogs for a quick walk and presto! I have homemade ice cream waiting for me when I return.
Other Comments: Great gift idea! I bought one for each of my three grown kids- they love and use it too!

Pros: Relatively quiet operation (about 60 db at 4' from appliance), ease of operation (simple on/off switch), quick clean-up (usually only 2 items to clean), quality of construction (heavy duty motor base), transparent cover (allows one to watch the freezing process), use with your own custom ice cream/frozen yogurt recipes and fast freezing in only 15-20 minutes.
Cons: No lid included for transparent cover.
