Other Comments: I got this camcorder looking for one with good low light, good image stabilization and good video quality for which this cam delivers on all three. This camcorder is amazing in so many ways and I'm very pleased with it. Image stabilization is amazing.
My biggest gripe is that there are no progressive video modes at all. There is however, an SD mode (720x480) but it is kinds difficult to use because you must put the camera into "SD" mode and that changes what can be seen in the player as well. Also, if you shoot mixed HD and SD then iMovie (mac) will only "see" the SD content. You have to delete/remove the SD content in order to get iMovie to see the HD stuff.
Other thoughts: I see a lot of complaints about not being Mac compatible and the only thing about this camcorder that is not Mac compatible is the included Windows-only software. Otherwise, iMovie, FCS etc, import video directly from the camcorder without issue (just see my note above on SD vs HD video).
