Other Comments: I've been searching for a high end point and shoot for an upcoming European adventure. I hadn't purchased a digital camera since October 2000. I began my search looking at the G12 and the S95, both from Canon. Fine cameras and very highly regarded. Its my intention to use this camera to shoot video as well as stills. 720p obviously isn't the highest video resolution available, but certainly is good enough for my purposes. Here's a couple of things that tipped the scales in favor of the P7000. 1. 7x optical zoom. 2. Full zoom and focus in the video mode. Most cameras in this range have fixed focus and zoom in video mode.
