Great battery life. Great image quality. Good low light performance. Good lens cap. Cons: Fear of water and dust damage. Complexity and required learning curve. Other Comments: Just got it and took it on a vacation to Austria. Using all the options properly seems overwhelming. Will need to study the video tutorials online. If you can see it, you can get the shot! f 2.8 over whole zoom range! Easy, intuitive menu structure. Durable. High quality glass. Long battery life. External Audio connection. Good quality video. Fantastic 12 shot burst rate. Slo motion and many other "fun" settings. Shutter can stay open up to 60 seconds for amazing low light shots. Cons: Cons are VERY few: I find it annoying that you can not zoom when filming in slo motion. Battery compartment is located too close to the tripod shoe. (So you can't swap batteries quickly.) 30 minute control track break is annoying. Manual focus is a bit clumsy to use. Other Comments: This is a camera that is so much fun for the price, it's the kind of rare purchase you look back on and are really glad you made. I can literally stand in one goal on the soccer field at my kids game and shoot clear, high quality close ups of players in the opposing goal. I purchased this camera after reading hundreds of reviews of similar cameras, and seeing the comment again and again (from users) that the other camera took pictures "almost" as good as their fz-200 had. I've now purchased 3 of these, and my original camera has taken major knocks skiing, and falling off my tripod and traveling around the world with me. It's still working perfectly after 4 years of fairly constant shooting. It's definitely a "bridge" camera, and if you "pixel peep," you can certainly see that more professional gear like a GH4 has a better image, but the little fz-200 is a go anywhere shoot anything wonder that I'm very glad to have in my bag as well. The things this camera can do are ADDICTIVE! After having a 600mm zoom, I don't know how a person could live without it. Video quality is surprisingly good, and the external audio plug is wildly important (and rare on super zooms) if you want to record anything remotely professional sounding. (Camera pre amps seem to be half way decent on this camera, though I wish I could set the levels manually.) I think if you purchase this camera, you'll be addicted too.
