The digital view finder is great and the histogram is really helpful in getting the right combination for a great exposure. The battery life if very short so I have 3 extras. For pictures, it's one FANTASTIC camera. For videos, not so much. My old Canon SX130IS beats it on videos by a long shot. The camera is fast and relatively easy to use and takes better pictures than my smaller point-and-shoot camera. It has many great features, such as multiple image noise reduction and HDR, panorama shots, HD video, etc. It's heavier and bulkier than a point-and-shoot, and it overheats after a while when taking videos (This is a known design limitation, due to the large sensor).
