Other Comments: I waited a long time before buying a new lens for my Canon. I just went with the lens which came with the Camera. Honestly I thought it was a pretty good lens and let me do the things that I needed. Turns out I was wrong. With this lens, I feel the picture quality is better, it is more responsive, and I have a whole lot better zoom. I've used the lens inside and out. I have not found any problems with the lens.
Please note, I am not a picture snob. I'm a guy who takes pictures of his kids and uploads them to the internet so his family can see them. I moved from point and shot to SLR and from the original lens to this little treasure. Each move I was not expecting a big difference, but each time I have been surprised. (Go figure, you would think I would learn)
I have had a couple of shots not in focus, but I believe the camera focused in on other parts of the picture than what I wanted. I don't blame the lens
All in all, I would buy this lens again (actually I would have bought it sooner). It gives me flexibility that I did not have before and it focuses quick, it is quieter and it takes great pictures!
