I have asthma; plus, we were about to bring home pet parrot. Experts recommend using air purifiers for parrots -- and also, of course, for asthmatic humans. I've owned HOneywell air purifiers before; this product is even better than those, with its washable filter. It's well-built and sturdy, the largest and best-rated unit in the Honeywell line.The Honeywell 50250 is designed to handle larger rooms, and does a most effective job of it. The unit is large, larger than lower-numbered Honeywells; it might be too bulky for a smaller room. The one downside is, it's noisy; I would not recommend it for a bedroom, especially around light sleepers. Even there, it can be used at times when the bedroom is u noccupied. Apart from that, it's ideal. I'm thinking of buying another one for upstairs.[...]They have earned my highest recommendation.
