I use the smaller SLR model for holding flash units, and the larger one has pretty much unlimited uses. Not a replacement for a real tripod costing $400-$1400, but a real addition to the arsenal. in my opinion, a must have for nature, walk-around or self-portrait shooting. Verified Purchase Review submitted for Joby Gorillapod Focus and Ballhead X combo (GP8-BHEN) Black / Gray (JOGP8BHEN) Pros: Easily Adjusted, Compact, Lightweight, Smooth Movement Cons: Other Comments: my gorillapod is attached with my canon 5d for most of time. it is compact and lightweight. it is more stable during shooting when i hold both camera and the pod. it is so convenient i ofen fix it on the back of the chair. for outdoor shooting, i ofen fix it on a fence, a branch of the tree, a rock, or a uneven slope. since i have only used it for less than a month, i have not found much cons. the one that bother me some times is the screw for ataching with camera not tight enough. i need tighten it again. generally, it is a great product. i love it so much.
