The one time I was given another brand as a gift, I was so disappointed in it I threw it out after a short time and went back to Krups. This model has been improved over Krups previous models, has a lower profile which makes opening the top to make coffee eaiser. Makes a great pot of coffee eveytime. Clock and timer settings have also been improved over previous models. Basket comes out eaiser and on the whole the machine is easy to keep clean.
