  What COULD be a great monitor. June 24, 2016
Verified Purchase Review submitted for LG 34UC87-C IPS 21:9 34" 3440X1440 Curved UltraWide QHD LED-Lit Monitor Display (LG34UC87C) Pros: -Great color -ultrawide -1440p -Easy joystick menus -Built in speakers are above average -Curve is nice but I stopped noticing it Cons: -Horrible back light bleeding. It is to the point where it is annoying me at most times. -Monitor turns off randomly for 1-5 seconds at a time, can be annoying especially in competitive games. -Monitor sometimes wont connect without a fresh reboot. -When inactive, will switch between power saving mode and displaying that it will switch to power saving mode, even though it is already in power saving mode. Other Comments: It had amazing potential but I would prefer not having to take a risk when buying such an expensive product. I'm sure there are good and bad versions, and it just so happened that I got a bad one. I would RMA for replacement but buydig requires ALL contents in original packaging, some of which was thrown out. My fault, not theirs. But can there be no exception? Verified Purchase Review submitted for LG 34UC87-C IPS 21:9 34" 3440X1440 Curved UltraWide QHD LED-Lit Monitor Display (LG34UC87C) Pros: This monitor is a must have for photo/video editors! The horizontal real estate is amazing. I'm able to have multiple windows open within Sony Vegas while still seeing the trimmer and video preview window at a great size. No more shrinking and expanding windows any longer. I've updated a screenshot of what a blank Sony Vegas window looks like. Also, if you do any spreadsheet work, this thing is a beast! It allows almost a full view of two spreadsheets side by side without the annoying screen bezel in the middle. Also, if you watch tutorial videos while working in the app you're trying to learn, this allows to view the tutorial AND have the app open on ONE screen! Again, no more watching on two different monitors. I don't play games on my PC so I can't comment on that experience, but watching blu-ray movies that are formatted to 21:9 (2.33:1) aspect ratio is AMAZING! It's truly a movie theater type experience. I've read many reviews that users who already have a 40ish inch 4K TV and also this monitor actually watch their blu-ray movies on this monitor because of the immersive, theatrical experience...and I would agree. It's fantastic! Cons: Light leak in the corners. It's obviously only noticeable when viewing a very dark / black screen, which really only happens when I'm watching movies.
