Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: Energy Efficient, Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Great Picture Quality
Cons:
Other Comments: Love that it is energy efficient because we watch so much TV on a daily basis. It's too early to tell how the LEDs will hold up, but right now the picture is great. The blacks are very black.

4 out of 5 stars   Great TV - Eventually...

Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Best looking TV out there, Energy Efficient, Great Picture Quality, All the connections options I could ever need
Cons:
Other Comments: [...]it operated for approximately 4 hours before its screen dropped the picture and went to grayscale boxes. Even the built-in menu system wouldn't show up. As this was our third TV [...] I called LG for warranty repairs. LG was quick to respond and had a tech out to our house within a week to repair the set.Everything seems to be working fine now. The color reproduction is excellent and there are a multitude of configurable options for improving picture quality. Sound is about what you'd expect for downward-firing built-in speakers. Overall it appears to be a great set, however structurally it isn't the most rigid. However, once you get it on the included stand or a wall mount, it feels very solid.

4 out of 5 stars   55le5500

Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Good Remote Control, Energy Efficient, Best looking TV out there, Reduced Glare, Setup is as easy as it gets
Cons:
Other Comments: I really like the TV. It was easy to setup. I was thinking that the network setup would take some time, but it was really a breeze. The picture quality is what has impressed me. My main criteria for selecting this TV was the power, and as mentioned, this TV hardly consumes any (around 150 Watts). I have the TV in a brightly lit room, but I do not see any glare. I have not watched any Blue-Ray so I can not comment on the quality but if picture quality from streaming VUDU looks this great, I am sure Blue-Ray would be amazing. I will update on the Blue-Ray later. One and only Con is the sound. The quality is ok, but it is not very good, and I am positive that whoever owns this TV will have a home theater, so I do not see any problem with that. The remote is really simple, which is a plus feature.

Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: All the connections options I could ever need, Best looking TV out there, Energy Efficient, Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Good Remote Control, Great Picture Quality, Setup is as easy as it gets
Cons:
Other Comments: Excellent HDTV. Worth every penny. The picture and features are outstanding. Start up is fast, recognizes new inputs intelligently, great features set. Sadly, does not include Pandora streaming music service. I was so pleased with features, I purchased a smaller unit in same series for bedroom. NOTE: The directions for assembling the base are somewhat confusing. Use the LONGER screws for attaching the two base pieces. The smaller set of screws are used for securing the actual base to the back of unit.

4 out of 5 stars   Great picture, lacks in a few areas

Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: Setup is as easy as it gets, Good Remote Control, Great Picture Quality, Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Energy Efficient
Cons: Poor Sound Quality
Other Comments: I bought 2 of these and they were a killer price from BuyDig. TV has tinny and weak sound. Very ez to set up and use, good looking TV with outstanding picture quality. Has very annoying feature where if you surf channels up or down, it moves into a different bracket of channel types. What I mean is that if I have 2-200 HD, once I scroll past 200, it starts at 2 again, but that wil be 2 standard digital. SD may be 2-70. Once you get to 70, it goes to 2 analog. 2 analog might be 2-20, once you get to 20, it goes back to the 2-200 HD. This is part of auto-programming and I can't undo it w/o manually deleting channels. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

Pros: Setup is as easy as it gets, Great Picture Quality, Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Reduced Glare, All the connections options I could ever need
Cons:
Other Comments: We spent hours over a period of months checking out HDTV's for our first upgrade. Our method was simple: stand in front of them and check them out! The LG 55LE5500 LCD/LED has the best picture quality with the least amount of "glare" / reflection of light sources of any that we considered including Sony, Samsung, Sharp, etc. etc.Great product using HDMI connector and 55 inches!

4 out of 5 stars   Great TV
By Cee Jay on June 07, 2010
Review submitted for LG 55LE5500 - 55" Full HD 1080P Broadband 120Hz LED LCD w/ Local Dimming 5M:1 CR (LG55LE5500)
Pros: Outstanding picture clarity/resolution, Reduced Glare, Great Picture Quality, All the connections options I could ever need
Cons: TV recognizing inputs
Other Comments: I decided to post a comment for this TV since no one else has. Not sure if that is because not many people are buying it or if not many are posting comments. I researched this and samsung led's for months and finally decided to take the plunge (so I could get rid of my HUGE 57 inch DLP mitsubishi). The picture on this set is outstanding with high def programming (currently using verizon fios). There is plenty of connectivity. I am using a hdmi switch, and it appears this set has problems recognizing inputs from that switch; I have to keep the hdmi switch turned on 24/7. I don't know if it's the TV or the box; I suspect the box is the culprit, as I cannot switch to other inputs. I have since ordered another box that I hope to have by the end of the week. I was on the phone with LG for over an hour trying to figure out another problem (missing parts that weren't really missing, [...]) and I asked about the input issue. No offense, but the woman on the other end did not have a clue; I guess it was not in her "manual." I will try to post an update after receiving the new HDMI switch. I would have given the TV 5 stars, but without knowing which component is to blame for the inpur issue I will have to settle on 4 stars for now.
