Pros: The Masterbuilt kettle grill is a beautiful piece of equipment and is perfectly priced .
Cons: The handles, though they look sturdy, should come with a tube of SUPER GLUE. Customer service replaced 2 of them for me.

Pros: My husband likes the grill very much. The big draw for this grill for him is the ash can, also this grill is taller than the one he had previously.
Cons: Lid is not hinged.

5 out of 5 stars   Masterbuilt 22.5 inch Kettle Charcoal Grill
By Dave on November 20, 2014
Review submitted for Masterbuilt 22-1/2 inch Kettle Charcoal Grill (MBLT20041911)
Pros: Easy to put together, best price for same style and size, porcelain grill grate is much better than the chrome that others use, that rusted the first few times of use . I am very happy with it. I would recommend and will be back to buy from Masterbuilt again. Thank You. Dave
Cons: can't think of any
Other Comments: Feels good to get a bargain now a days.

3 out of 5 stars   Pretty Good for Price
By Sean on September 06, 2014
Review submitted for Masterbuilt 22-1/2 inch Kettle Charcoal Grill (MBLT20041911)
Pros: Cheaper than a Webber Compact Kettle Design Relatively Large Grill Area Ash Catcher
Cons: Coal Grate Too Low and Too Small Handles Don't Fit Flush
Other Comments: This grill is not bad for the price of $49.95 that I paid for it. I wanted a Webber Gold 22.5" to replace a Webber Silver 22.5", but gave this grill a shot because it was a $100 cheaper. I will now give my opinions of this grill's weaknesses over the next few paragraphs. Firstly, for me, the coal grate is too low in the grill. Due to that, you will end up needing more charcoal as compared to a Webber because of the coal grate being at the very bottom of the grill (my estimation is that it is between 1/8 to 1/4 from the bottom of the grill). With the grilling grate being obviously at the top, this makes the distance between the meat and the coals much too great, hence you will need more coals in order to stack them closer to the meat. If I remember correctly, my old Webber had the coal grate between a 1/2 and a 1/3 from the bottom. Secondly, the coal grate was made too small. This is due to the design of the grill by fitting the coal grate so closely to the very bottom of the grill. I discovered that you will have the outside edges of the grilling grate with no coals below them, thus you will not have adequate heat for grilling certain items that need direct heat. For example, I had the entire coal grate covered with hot coals and I had to cook steaks on the very center of the grill grate and by necessity ignore the total outside ring of the grill grate. I was only able to adequately grill 4-5 narrow strip steaks at a time, with two or three laid in a row in the center with two steaks turned the other direction at each end. Thirdly, due to the small nature of the coal grate, it was difficult to put a drip pan on the coal grate and place coals on either side of the drip pan in order to roast chicken over indirect heat. That was something that we loved with our Webber. You could easily fit a small rectangular (9"x13") cake pan and place coals on both sides of the pan on the coal grate with the Webber. I had to go to Lowe's and buy a Webber coal grate for a 22.5" Webber and use bricks to elevate the grate. The chicken did roast well with that adjustment. All in all, it isn't a bad grill except for the size of the coal grate and its location at the very bottom of the grill. I bought it over the Webber due to the price and decided to give it a try. In the future, we'll probably go with the Webber. Would I recommend this grill? It depends on what you are wanting to do with a charcoal grill. If all you want to do is cook hamburgers, then it will probably be great as is. But you will need to load up on the coal to take advantage of the full size of the grilling grate.
