5 out of 5 stars   Great Lens

Review submitted for Nikon 2191 - 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR Lens for Nikon Digital SLR (NK28300VR)
Pros: Strong Construction, Broad Zoom Range, Nice Bokeh, Consistent Output, Good For Closeups, Rugged, Durable, Fast / accurate auto-focus, Easily Interchangeable
Cons: Poor in Low Light
Other Comments: I bought this lens for travel. Because of its broad zoom range it will probably be the only one I have to take with me. I will save a lot on weight, and bulk, not to mention security issues; I won't have to worry about protecting several thousand dollars worth of glass. I haven't noticed much lens creep, though I've seen comments about it in other reviews. Perhaps it will loosen up with time. It is very versitile and has hardly left my camera since I got it.

3 out of 5 stars   A very good walk around lens

Review submitted for Nikon 2191 - 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR Lens for Nikon Digital SLR (NK28300VR)
Pros: Lightweight, Easily Interchangeable
Cons:
Other Comments: I had the lens about 2 weeks. I bought it as a "walk around" lens for my D800. When I first got it the zoom stuck at about 40 mm and with a gentle turn it went beyond and worked OK and I liked it for the purpose I bought it and if it was not for the problem I would recommend it. About a week later it stuck again, sort of like the zoom lock was on but it was not. I returned it and bought the 24-70 f2.8 and am happy with it.

5 out of 5 stars   Awesome Upgrade to the Nikon 18-200mm
By traderfjp on October 24, 2010

Review submitted for Nikon 2191 - 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR Lens for Nikon Digital SLR (NK28300VR)
Pros: Awesome optics, Not soft on long end, No lens creep, Psuedo macro, Excellent Build Quality, Fantastic clarity
Cons: Price
Other Comments: I owned the Nikon 18-200mm which I enjoyed and was sharp to about 120mm but was soft at the long end. The 28-300mm is a much sharper lens and is sharp from 200-300mm. I'm really enjoying this lens and can't believe how good the build quality is. There is no lens creep like the 18-200mm. I ended up giving my old Nikon lens to my 15 year old daughter which she has on her D3000. Not a bad setup either. In closing I would say that the 28-300mm is a nice upgrade from the 18-200mm and you'll be set if you decide to upgrade to an FX camera.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product
