5 out of 5 stars   A truly great piece of photo equipment

Review submitted for Nikon D5000 DX-Format Digital SLR Body - REFURBISHED (NKD5000RB)
Pros: Improved dynamic exposure, Superb exposure metering, Easy to use, Improved menu navigation, Quiet
Cons: No remote flash, No auto focus motor
Other Comments: I purchased this camera to replace my D 40 which I have always thought was the very best of all the cameras I've used over the past 50 plus years. The 5000 tweaks the D40 with improved images, easier to navigate menus and the addition of Nikon's ADR lighting which essentially adjusts the camera's dynamic range to reduce burned out highlights. Coupling this camera with Nikon's 18-200mm VR Zoom results in a camera-lens combo that is very nearly all you need for a vast array of shooting situations. I am a little disappointed that this camera has no focus motor and will not autofocus with my older Nikon 70-200mm f 2.8 super sharp lens. That would take an upgrade to the D90 and an additional $400. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this camera.

5 out of 5 stars   Nikon D5000 Body

Review submitted for Nikon D5000 DX-Format Digital SLR Body - REFURBISHED (NKD5000RB)
Pros: Handsome unit, Complete with battery, Best price anywhere, Software and strap, Amazing and functional
Cons: No memory card included, Big learning curve, Software is challenging
Other Comments: This camera does everything but wake you up in the morning! Ive been a shutterbug for twenty + years, owned 6 or 8 cameras and I think I just bought the last one I'll ever need! Nikon has packed so much into this camera I dont see myself ever out growing it. The novice may be intimidated by its vast capibilities though.
