4 out of 5 stars   Refurbished Nikon D800
By D on September 27, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon D800 36.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) Factory Refurbished (NKD800RFB)
Pros: Love the camera!
Cons: The Wi-Fi adapter for this model is over a $1,000. I did not realize that the less expensive adapter, did not work on the D800 with having some serious modification. The solution was not so bad, purchase eye-fi Wi-Fi Sd cards and install app to your smartphone. Other than that, this camera is everything and more... Also, if you are a beginner, this camera is going to require some serious time in and may not be the camera for you.

5 out of 5 stars   MOVE UP TO PROFESSIONAL-LEVEL CAMERA
By Jarhead on February 27, 2014
Review submitted for Nikon D800E 36.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) (NKD800E)
Pros: Picture quality is phenomenal! Countless features. Super fast focus. The ability to set up multiple settings for various types of photography such as studio, landscape, HDR, night photography, etc.
Cons: Camera slows down if saving multiple files to multiple memory cards (Fine JPEG+RAW to both memory cards), but considering the amount of information, it's understandable and only a minor issue. If I plan on taking lots of pics at a sporting event in CH mode, I'll set it to save only RAW to one card and use the other card for overflow which should remedy the problem.
Other Comments: This is my first professional-level camera. I moved up from the Nikon D-7000 which is a superb camera in its own right. The difference in quality of photos is very obvious from the first time you press the shutter release button. Although there are some differences in the controls between the two cameras, the jump up to the D800E was made easier because I am familiar with so many of the controls from the D-7000. I haven't had a chance to use the camera very much in the few weeks that I've had it, but that will change starting next week when I go on a 3-week vacation. I've spent the time since I got it familiarizing myself with the various settings and functions. I bought an after-market manual (David Busch's Nikon D800/D800E) and have studied it from one end to the other. It is much more informative then the manual that comes with the camera. I also purchased two of the three holy trinity lenses that are recommended for this camera (Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8; Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8) as well as a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 lens. I plan to eventually purchase the other lens in the trinity, the Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 when I have the funds. I purchased the camera and lenses from BuyDig because of their prices. I read some online reviews, some of which were scathing and some which were good. Then I went to Better Business Bureau's web page and found out BuyDig has an A+ rating with them. If the poor reviews were so accurate, why has no one complained to the BBB about BuyDig. And I wasn't disappointed! I got everything I ordered and more for a price that was lower than I could find anywhere else! I would DEFINITELY recommend BuyDig for photography gear!

3 out of 5 stars   More down sides than up
By Snappy on October 01, 2012

Review submitted for Nikon D800 36.3 MP CMOS FX-Format Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) (NKD800)
Pros: Controls Akin To My D300
Cons: Huge Files Slow To Load, Green Tint To Screen, Did Not Fit My Hand Well, White Balance Difficult
Other Comments: Disappointed in the images as compared to my expectations, based upon what I'd been reading. I certainly did not do an exhaustive comparison, but to my eye the pictures were no better than my D300 and the green tint made for more work in post processing.
