Pros: Makes shooting in portrait orientation ergonomic. Balance using fast (heavy) lenses is better. Looks PRO!
Cons: Adds weight.
Other Comments: I grip all my bodies, shoot primarily portraits.

Other Comments: The D800 handles pretty well even without the MB-D12 but with the grip the camera is transformed. I recently photographed a Bar Mitzvah and the comfort level of holding the camera for hours even with primes is dramatically better. With the big f2.8 zooms it is night and day better.
