This product and its equals have no effect if it/they are plugged into the headphone jack. When I figured this out and bought the appropriate recording device, this product performed flaulessly.

Other Comments: I use the product to record telephone consultations that can last about 1.5 hours. This works best with an over the ear head set. First put the tp-7 in your ear and then place the head phone and microphone head set over your ear. The head set keeps the TP-7 ear piece from slipping out of your ear. It works great in recording both sides of a conversation.
