Review submitted for Olympus LS11 Linear PCM Portable Recorder (OMLS11)
Pros: Low Distortion, Powerful, Excellent Sound, Easy To Use, Versatile
Cons:
Other Comments: I use this in my voice studio in order to record students for immediate feedback or for downloading onto CD for audition or other purposes. I had used one of these at school, but had purchased another kind of recorder to try for my personal use. I was dissatisfied with that one, and after one use, decided to return it and order this. I am well pleased.

Review submitted for Olympus LS11 Linear PCM Portable Recorder (OMLS11)
Pros: Versatile, Excellent Sound, Powerful, Low Distortion, Quality Build
Cons: None
Other Comments: The recorder was purchased primarily to tape phone orders for business via the Olympus TP-7 auxiliary microphone accessory. Performs as expected. Recording quality is first rate, especially in the PCM mode. Although, there are two external speakers in the back of the unit, these are only to check recording. Use with headphones or earbuds provides a true picture of the full sound depth and quality this machine is capable of recording. The recorder offers professional features like multiple reverb controls that can impart a concert hall sound to any recording. It can also utilize up to a 32 gigabyte SDHC card for added recording time. The unit has 8 Gigabytes of internal memory as well. Battery life is excellent at over 20 hours! The menus take a little time to familiarize oneself, but the instructions are straightforward and easily digested even for the neophyte. The unit feels solid and is well built in an aluminum case. The menu screen is back lit (useful in low light concert halls) and has good contrast controls. The unit interfaces with both PC's and Macs via the included USB cable. Other accessories include a carrying case, wrist strap, 2 AA batteries, cubase 4 software CD, instruction book, input-output transfer cable. All in all, an excellent recorder for the money in a compact, solid package.

Review submitted for Olympus LS11 Linear PCM Portable Recorder (OMLS11)
Pros: Versatile, Easy To Use, Low Distortion, Excellent Sound, Powerful
Cons:
Other Comments: Coming from a Sony minidisc recorder, got tired of the analog conversion getting recordings into the pc. The LS-11 rocks, super clarity, easy to use, flexible, well built-solid construction, comparatively small size, built in 8G takes care of most peoples need (save money). Also bought the remote. Its simple, effective works fine across a 12' room maybe further, don't know.

Review submitted for Olympus LS11 Linear PCM Portable Recorder (OMLS11)
Pros: LCD size is not too small, Menu is well laid out, Thin profile is a plus, Versatile, Speakers are very useful, Physical design is XLNT, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound
Cons: It won't make espresso
Other Comments: While rehearsing, it is so easy to document the proceedings. I would buy this unit again if lost or stolen. I also bought the remote control, which only has record start/stop function, but that's all you need. And the unit plug-in part has adjustable IR receiver screen that can be rotated to be in line with your hand-held remote switch. That is very well thought out. The built-in playback re-verb and other FX are fun to use when you might connect the output to, say, your car stereo. The built-in speakers are very small but this is not a "doof-box". For referencing and verifying, these speakers are perfectly sized. On the sides where the volume controls are, there are ridges on the casing that protect the rotary controls from damage. That's another very good design feature. The build quality seems very good, comparable to Sony, which I'm familiar with for over 30 years now. This unit is made in China. Because China doesn't yet have a good reliability reputation, I got the added 3 year parts/labor warranty for $20.00, which is a bargain. I looked into the Sony and Zoom products, which are also very good, but I am very happy with the LS-11.

Review submitted for Olympus LS11 Linear PCM Portable Recorder (OMLS11)
Pros: Powerful, Excellent Sound, Versatile, Clarity beyond belief, Low Distortion, Easy To Use
Cons:
Other Comments: The Olympus LS11 has so many capabilities and adjustments that it is wonderful! I do audio book recordings, church meetings, musical recordings, songs, etc., and the LS-11 is a recording studio all in itself! Terrific memory! I have approximately 20 GB of audio book recordings in mono MP3 format, that I can store in the Music section, while doing new recordings in the folders sections. The LS-11 is a work of art!
