Pros: The Olympus STYLUS SZ-16 iHS16MP has been a true delight. The camera is incredibly easy to operate with a clearly defined display that is very intuitive. I have only had the camera for a short time but it has lived up to its hype and performed at a level that I truly did not anticipate. I did not expect the camera to have so many features that actually function as indicated. The camera is solidly constructed, light weight, has easy to use advanced features, comfortable to operate (even with my big hands), produces good quality photos, priced extremely well, and it is a point and shoot camera that has the additional benefits of user control. One would be tempted to simply skip many of the other point and shoot cameras on the market across water if they tried the STYLUS SZ-16 first. It is a sweet little camera and in acquiring one, you will be well pleased.
Cons: The real con for this camera is that it takes all the real fun out of photography. The darn thing makes taking good photographs far too easy. Gone are the "good ole days" of guess work for determining shutter speed, aperture settings, exposure compensations for back-lighting, brightness and shadows, etc. Other than the nostalgia factor, what’s not to love about this darn camera?
I wish that there was a dedicated camera case made specifically for the STYLUS SZ-16.
Other Comments: The Dual Image Stabilization feature is amazing and functions well; I am forwarding an image of an early morning sunrise which I shot in automatic mode to illustrate. I took the photograph with the camera in a zoomed-in automatic mode when the temperature was minus 7 degrees F; this coupled with the fact that my hands were also shaking at the time. If one is aware of all the prevailing conditions connected with this shot one would realize the shot turned out great.
