Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: LED-backlit, Multiple Connectivity, Great Picture Quality
Cons: No audio output, Fan Noise Little Annoying
Other Comments: I use it mainly to watch downloaded movies from my laptop or using my HD STB. I would say this projector meets my expectations for being compact, multiple connectivity options, good picture quality, decent brightness.

5 out of 5 stars   Perfect Size and Quality
By Tim on April 01, 2013

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Good Connection Options, Great Picture Quality, Fast Setup, Lightweight, Good Resolution, Attractive Design
Cons: Poor Sound Quality
Other Comments: The small size (but big, bright picture) make this projector perfect for taking to meetings so everyone can share what is being discussed. In a room with 3 to 10 people, the ML-500 projector allows everyone to see graphics, numbers in a spreadsheet, or even edit a document similtaneously. I also use it in my office with a digital tuner and Windows Media Center to watch live TV (especially football and basketball when I have to work on weekends). The high-definition picture is stunning. Since I use the computer speakers, the sound quality (and quantity) is moot.

4 out of 5 stars   Great for presentations in large rooms

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Reduced Glare, Great Picture Quality, Fast Setup, Good Connection Options
Cons:
Other Comments: I use this product for business presentations for clients. Recently I was able to project onto a 7ft tall by about 10ft wide wall. The quality was sharp, I was impressed. The lights were half dimmed and the glare was almost nonexistent; all because of the LED's instead of regular lamps.

Pros: Attractive Design, Good Connection Options, Great Picture Quality, Energy Efficient, Fast Setup, Good Remote Control, Good Resolution
Cons:
Other Comments: Wonderful product, simple to use, with several great features, worked perfectly out of the box. Doesn't require a perfectly dark room. Bright enough for most situations. Speaker system could be improved by adding a speaker output jack. I would recommend this to anyone.

4 out of 5 stars   Convenient

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Portable
Cons: Poor Image Quality
Other Comments: I use the product in my classes mostly. Haven't used all the applications it has yet, only as an extended desktop, couldn't figure out how to use the memory stick with it yet. The lumus are not enough for a small class, the frame of what is projected needs to be fairly small for good visual quality. 3ft by 1.5 max. I expected more. The specs say it is good for a large room. Not so.

Pros: Great Picture Quality, Good Connection Options, Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Good Resolution, Energy Efficient, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
Cons:
Other Comments: Awesome little projector. Gorgeous picture quality at the native 720p, or 1080p. Only negative is that it's not the brightest(Though I do keep it in 'eco' mode) with ambient daylight, but at least it doesn't experience lens glare like a TV would.

4 out of 5 stars   Great Mobile Projector
By Del on March 21, 2012

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Easy To Use, Clear Display, Small Footprint, Quality Construction
Cons: Noisy
Other Comments: Great little projector. Perfect of those onsite customer meetings. Does not require a laptop to present Word documents or PowerPoint slide decks. Only CON to this ability is that it does NOT support all the features of Office 2007/2010 natively. Some things in the Word docs and PowerPoint presentations do not display properly (i.e. layered pictures) from the USB stick. So test your presentations before getting in front of your customers. Other than that. Love this item.. Purchased two of them.

4 out of 5 stars   Buy this and you will be very happy!

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Small Footprint, Unbelievably small, Affordable, Very light only 2lbs, Surprisingly bright, Quiet, Easy To Use, Clear Display, Quality Construction
Cons: Nothing comes to mind
Other Comments: This optoma is great, it has surpassed my expectations by far. I thought only 500 lumens might not be enough since the dlp ones have way more but I was wrong! This is my primary tv, I watch it in the daytime with lights on and windows open and you can still see it just fine! The picture is very crisp and clear, once again I thought 720p might not be enough but I was wrong again, its much better than I would have ever expected for [$]. The only thing that I noticed wasn't perfect is sometimes when it's a night scene the dark colors kind of wash each other out and it's a little hard to see but this could also be because I have a grey screen instead of white. Bottom line: buy it! You won't be dissapointed

4 out of 5 stars   Worth the money
By rene on February 20, 2012

Review submitted for Optoma ML500 Mobile LED Projector, WXGA 1280 x 800 Resolution, 500 Lumens Factory RFB (OPML500)
Pros: Quality Construction, Small Footprint, Easy To Use, Quiet, Clear Display, Very clean picture, Vivid colors
Cons: Low distance on remote
Other Comments: Researched the ml 500, the hd 66 and the Epson 750 for several weeks before making the decision on the ml 500. Very happy with my decision so far, have only had it 3 weeks but good so far. Scared about fan noise after reading several reviews but Eco mode is very quiet. Very small unit and can hook up to about anything. Only bad thing is it has no audio out on the unit, not a deal buster. LED bulb was the factor for me.

Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: I bought this projector to replace my old standard definition 2000 lumin BenQ. I was skeptical at first about the brightness of this projector. But wow! this project really looks great!! It plays at full 1080p and boasts deep blacks and rich colors without loosing its brightness. I had litterally stopped watching movies in my theater after i bought a plasma for my bedroom. It was difficult to stomach such a large degridation in image quality. I had to relocate the projector cables to mount the unit 2 feet closer to my screen (a big job because my Ceilings are finished) Now I feel like i have a 106" plasma - and my home theater is back in action. The only issue I am having is the projector seems to have problems synchronizing if i channel from SD stations to HD stations. I have to push the HDMI button on the remote several times to get it to synch up.
