By Average joe on January 03, 2013
Review submitted for Optoma Pro350W - Multimedia Projector 3DTV Ready -REFURBISHED (OPPRO350WRB)
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Unreliable performance
Other Comments: Worked well at first. Picture started flickering, stopped coming on at all and lamp fail light comes on. I purchased a new lamp from optima but still says lamp fail. All this under 500 hours.

Review submitted for Optoma Pro350W - Multimedia Projector 3DTV Ready -REFURBISHED (OPPRO350WRB)
Pros: Great picture quality, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint
Cons: Limited Compatibility
Other Comments: I have waited 6 months to review this product so I could give my review after some ussage instead of writing one right after purchasing. In other words the honeymoon is over for this this unit. I would like to start this with I did run into one problem with this projector that required me to send it to Optoma for a repair and my experence with them was excellent. From the moment they received the projector it took them about 5 days to ship it back out. For those who may be wondering this does not include shipping time which for me was quite short because the repair center was less than 100 miles away. My only issue with the repair was they did a complete system reset which reset my lamp time back to zero. If for any reason you ever have to send your unit into Optoma write down your lamp hours befor you pack it up! Other than the repair the unit has been quite reliable getting quite a bit of ussage almost everyday. This unit is used in a home emtertainment role with a Blu-Ray player, DVD player, HDTV receiver st top box (all 3 of these hookup through the HDMI input) along with a PC input. What can I say the picture quality is quite good, it may not be a true 1080p on Blu-Ray but friends who have watched movies on have yet to notice the down convert. Coloring. To me it is just fine althow at times can be a little lack luster but I have come to expect that from a front projection screen. Alot of the lack luster coloring can be fixed by cutting back on as much ambent light as possible. Brightness. Well this is the good part the projectors throw is about 10 feet on a 79" screen (had to set the zoom to -2 to fit. Zoom set to 0 would be about 84" requiring me to replace the screen) and the projector can be used anytime of day and still give an excelent picture. I mean at night with 150 watts of lights turned on between the projector and the screen along with the drapes open during the day. The only real loss I have spotted with the light is in the coloring department that is when it becomes lack luster. Other than that picture quality is still excelent. By the way I run the projector in True Color with the lamp set on standard or ECO mode. I only have 2 real complaints with this projector and that would be when switching between components via the AV receiver is it goes into search mode but then this could be fixed if I did not have a PC hooked up and told it not to search. The other is and extra HDMI and VGA hookup for future expansion. I would give this projector an over all score of 9.9 out of 10. It would have given it a 10 if I had not had to send it in for a repair.

Pros: Great picture quality, Easy To Set Up, Easy to use
Cons: Limited Compatibility
Other Comments: I use the projector for watching tv (mainly sports) and it looks great! I also was hoping to watch movies with it, but after the first movie I wasn't able to get a very good picture connecting it to my computer via the vga input. If I had a dvd player that I could connect via hdmi I'm sure it would be a fantastic experience, but there are not very many outputs/inputs to choose from but I wanted hdmi for tv and it so far has been great. I have one minor issue that the bottom of the picture is at a slight angle while the top is straight across nothing major but somewhat of a nuisance. I'm happy with the purchase for the price though! hope the bulb lasts a long time!

4 out of 5 stars   Great Projector for a backyard theater.
By KR1SIS on June 08, 2011
Review submitted for Optoma Pro350W - Multimedia Projector 3DTV Ready -REFURBISHED (OPPRO350WRB)
Pros: Reliable Performance, Bright, Easy To Set Up, Great picture quality, Easy to use, Clear, Small Footprint, 3D Ready
Cons: Manual focus
Other Comments: This projector is well worth th e money. I purchased this projector for summer movies in the backyard. The brightness and wide screen format at a nice resolution have made me very happy. 2800 lumens can be used in the day in a living room when there is no direct sun light on it. I've heard other people online complaining about rainbow effect, but haven't seen it on mine. I have netflix and vudu connected via my pc at love watching movies on it. It's like being in a movie theater at your house. The bulb is easy to replace and relatively inexpensive. If you are looking for a deal, this is it.
