Pros: Drop proof, Almost bullet proof, Multiple storage function, Rugged Construction, Water proof
Cons: Heavy, Sometimes awkward to hold, No handle
Other Comments: I bought this case to store my iPad 2 in until I can find a ruged case I like, but it has turned out to be much more useful then I had planed. I can carry my iPad the car charger and screen wipes and there is still room for a few more small gadgets.
I plan on using the Pelican 1080cc even after I get the ruged case I'm looking for. Most iPad cases on the market offer a few key options but still don't protect the screen from impact damage, this case looks and feels like a military grade product. The hinge and latch are metal and the 2 extra thick case halves have a rubber gasket that makes an air tight seal you can feel when you try to open it. If anything it is over built.
The down fall to all this over constuction is weight and the lack of a handle make it awkward to carry if your hands are full but it would fit in a back pack with no problem. Those are the only draw backs to the case so far for me but well worth the compromise in protection you will get from this case. So if you need a super ruged case for your small laptop , tablet , or even document transporting I would suggest you give this case a look.
