Pentax
K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: HD movie mode, RAW and JPEG file type, Awesome Pictures, Great lenses, Sturdy Construction, Easy User Interface, Great battery life - AA's
Cons: No viewfinder focus pts
Other Comments: I've used this product to shoot landscapes, portraits, and wildlife photos. Although this is my first DSLR, I used to be a professional photographer back when digital was just coming out (1990's). This camera feels much more sturdy than the superzoom category of cameras, and I'm glad I went the DSLR route. Although I used to be a die hard Nikon user, I'm glad I gave Pentax a try, as they seem to have a winner with the K-x line of entry level DSLR's.

K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: Lovely looking, Great functions
Cons: Using batteries
Other Comments: I have Nikon D3000 for one year and realized it's not that good. This pentax has HD video and HDR and electric filters which can be compared to Nikon D3100 and Canon with a great low price. Love the red color.
Macrolens work great. Color of picture is pretty.
Only thing I don't like is the batteries. Overall it's a great product.

K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: High quality in low light, Great price, Great image quality
Cons:
Other Comments: Definitely the cheapest SLR, and definitely a great camera.
I am new to the SLR realm but as far as I've read the reviews (I quite did some research before buying it) it has high image quality and in low lights it beats the more expensive 800-1k cameras easily.
The package with 2 lenses is a great bundle for those who want to start DSLR.
The battery is a personal choice if you like AA's or not. but be sure to upgrade your firmware the moment you buy to increase battery life.
Yes, I recommend this product

K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: Body Color Optional, Good lens, Fit for beginer to pro, girls like it, Perfect size for outdoor, Good price
Cons: Noisy lens, No HDMI, Auto focus just OK, Only 720p HD, No lens hood come with, Hand focus on Video
Other Comments: This DSLR was released about 1 yrs ago and I got it from last month with best price. I understand I cannot expect all highest tech should come with. Everything is good except 2 issue:
1)Nosiy Lens ... the motor sound is kind of loud when i put on 50-300mm DA L lens on. Auto focus is slow and out when i try to focus the plain background: sky, wall, but its performance still acceptable. Noisy lens does not relate to your photogrpahic sense.
2)Video capturing does not has auto focus, you need to do it by youself. Bad to someone do not have any idea of DSLR. Good to someone wants to be movie director. Not many DSLRs has this function today.
What I feel good to have K-x are the price and nice body design & color.

Pentax
K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: Seems to be very sharp, It uses my Sigma 28-135, From my 35mm Pentax KZ-L, The Pentax DA 55-300 lens
Cons:
Other Comments: Was surprised to find out that in Auto mode it defalted to knight portrate mode and even with forced flash was taking pictures inside the house at 1\4 to 1\8 sec. Switched to Program mode and regular portrate and got sharp pics. Went outside the next day and took some really sharp pics with at least 2 different lenses.

Pentax
K-x Digital SLR Lens Kit w/ DA L 18-55mm and 55-300mm Lens (Red)
(PKKXKT255300RD)
Pros: Best 5-6x tele in 55-300, Great 2 lens bundle, Best bang for buck, Outstanding 12MP CMOS, Small and light
Cons: Viewfinder lacks AF hint, K-r improves on K-x
Other Comments: I bought this as a backup to my weather-sealed K20D body and DA*, D-FA WR and DA WR lenses.
I purchased the red body K-x so I didn't have to look down to pick between the K20D and K-x around my neck, the red stands out. It also says "Pentax" to people who know, without being too much of an off-color.
I already had the DA 55-300 which is the best telezoom option I've ever seen, except for low-light. I'll often shoot the K20D + DA* 200 f/2.8 plus K-x + DA 55-300 f/4-5.8, unless it is raining.
The Pentax 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 kit lens continues to be the best kit wide angle lens in the industry. Paired with the Pentax 16-45 f/4, it's an outstanding solution beyond even entry-level, and only bested by a K20D/K7/K5 with the faster (and far more expensive) DA* 16-50 f/2.8.
The Sony 12MP CMOS sensor is outstanding, and can best my K20D when shooting JPEG. Low-light ISO performance is good, so I'll even put my f/2.8 and faster glass on the K-x at times.
The only complaint is the lack of the AF hint in the viewfinder. Pentax has stated that was not included for size reasons, but Pentax also re-added it in the K-r which improves on the K-x for only an insignificant size/weight increase. The K-r can be had with a similar bundle for over $700 now.
Yes, I recommend this product
