Pros: 1. Good zoom.
2. Great Electronic Viewfinder.
3. Very good JPEG images without any need for post-processing
4. Easy to customize
5. Lots of high-end features like peaking, HDR, zebra.
Cons: 1. 1" sensor.
2. Focus motor is noisy and is on a lot.
3. Getting it setup to do what you would like can be difficult and frustrating.
4. Flash isn't great.
5. Tends to get 'grainy' (i.e., noisy) at high zoom.
Other Comments: I got this as a temporary, compromise replacement for a Sony a77 Mk II that started losing images. So I went from a $1,700 camera (with zoom lens) to this $700 camera -- and WAS I IMPRESSED. Yes, the 1" sensor can't match the APS-C, but in terms of overall image quality, functionality and customizability the Lumix FZ1000 was as good.
I love this camera. You can't beat the convenience. I have more or less all the range I need built-in. Definitely recommend it.
