Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Quality optics. Easily understood menus. Viewfinder. Good grip. Classic mode dial. Good hand feel overall.
Cons: Focusing takes too long and at times doesn't respond unless its moved to a different object. Some settings change back to previous during operation. F2.8 in A mode leaves fuzzy edges around objects contrasting with background.
Other Comments: Thinking that a new sensor could have used more MP, unless it would have caused more noise. Zoom power of 24X is practical and finds objects fairly quickly. Overall the camera looks and feels good and solid.

Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Excellent lens, especially shooting in darker places from far away. Small lightweight with great zoom. Took a picture of the moon and can see even some craters on the edges!
Cons: Lightweight makes it a little shaky at the highest zoom.
Other Comments: Would be great if it came with a protective case.

3 out of 5 stars   Lumix Lament
By TVGUY on July 27, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Light weight. good (FUN) point and shoot. BuyDig's price [...]
Cons: Cheap feel. PLASTIC. Telephoto needs digital extender to be impressive Iris and focus manual controls not easily manipulated.
Other Comments: A bridge camera that is not professional quality as DSLR's go. Don't get your hopes up about quick manual controls. Everything is a menu selection with small wheels and buttons. Good as a complex point and shoot with video function. Don't pay the usual list price of $599.00 for this camera.

4 out of 5 stars   Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200 camera
By Wings on June 16, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Wide open f2.8 Leica lens all the way to 600mm. Nice EVF, LCD, lightweight, Very good image quality at low ISO Can shoot RAW files
Cons: Noise shows up at ISO setting above 200 and requires noise reduction software. Menu system is quite complicated, definitely not as easy to operate as a Canon DSLR . Much slower than a DSLR when trying to photograph moving objects, but great for still shots Location of various buttons and dials sometimes accidentally pressed because of the small size of the camera No histogram (at least I could not find one in the camera's menu system, or in the User Manual but one does appear when using Adobe Lightroom for post processing) Somewhat higher in price compared to its "bridge" camera competition.
Other Comments: I decided I needed a lightweight "bridge" camera because toting around a Canon DSLR + 400mm lens and with a tripod was getting somewhat cumbersome and strained my back if I carried one around for more than a couple of hours. I needed the 600mm reach for birds and wildlife, and the f2.8 lens helped. So after much research comparing the Panasonic with other bridge cameras I decided that the Panny was the one for me. The camera has a very extensive menu system, so that reading the Owner's Manual thoroughly is a must. One should print out the 200-odd pages rather than troubling to load the CD every time one wishes to consult the Manual. Bridge cameras, because of their tiny sensors, cannot compare to DSLRs which have larger sensors and therefore superior image quality and with less noise. But for photos to be viewed on a computer screen, the Panasonic's specs do quite well. Some people have claimed to be able to print out very decent 11 x 14 prints, but I will venture to say that this may depend on the subject matter and camera settings. I try to use very low settings, such as ISO 100 but am forced to bump the ISO higher in poorer lighting conditions. I have only had the camera for 3 weeks and have taken over 600 shots, so I am still learning the complexities of this camera. I only used iA setting once for a flash fill-in (very nicely) but I tend to avoid "dumb settings" because of the fully automatic feature of iA. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the complicated menu system and location of some buttons and dials

5 out of 5 stars   DMC-FZ200
By Nightowl on June 14, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Very nice, haven't had it long enough to really know all there is. It is different in some ways than my DSLR as far as the settings and moving around. It takes very nice sharp images at both ends of the lens.
Cons: Quite a learning curve

5 out of 5 stars   Panasonic hits the mark
By Coloma on May 16, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Clear, sharp photos and video. Easy to use. Great zoom lens. Great alternative to SLR without the weight. Choice of using viewfinder or LCD screen to shoot photos and video. I prefer using the viewfinder. Great in low light.
Cons: Can only transfer video to PC with USB and need to use a proprietary program to transfer it. Would prefer to cut and paste by loading SD card to PC. Instruction manual in package was in Spanish/Portuguese. Camera setting started in Spanish, but was able to change to English. Luckily, the .pdf instruction manual was in English. Can only use viewfinder for playback, not the screen (but need to look into manual to see if I missed something about doing playbacks using the screen on the camera).
Other Comments: I was looking for a camera that had SLR capabilities and zoom lens without the weight so I can take it on overseas travel. I found a review about this camera that set it apart from other superzoom camera brands. The camera is pricey, but it's worth it compared to buying a very expensive zoom lens for my SLR and lugging it around foreign countries and coming back with almost professional style photos.

5 out of 5 stars   Perfect Bridge Camera
By 32 Coupe on March 31, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Built in HDR. Incredible Intellegent Auto. Articulated LCD screen. Relatively easy menu process. Zoom apability in video. 24x optical zoom. Very fast "boot times" and shutter times.
Cons: The only limitations are mine. The camera has so many great capabilities that I still have a lot to learn. User manual is too basic -- ony 40 pages. Fortunately there is a great deal of good user information on the Internet through YouTube.

4 out of 5 stars   Slow Refund
March 12, 2014
Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Camera arrived in quick fashion. Camera looked great, sample photos were very good. Plan on reordering.
Cons: A "knocking" sound could be heard inside of camera during normal handling. Customer service was great when I called and described the problem. They said the sound was not normal. Returned camera via FedEx prepaid and received delivery confirmation. Refund policy states 5-7 business days for return payment. It is currently over 7 days and haven't seen a credit. Called back and was told it could be another 4 days.

Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Comfortable, Good zoom, High speed video, High quality pictures, Excellent video
Cons: Price
Other Comments: Great for Astrophotography, landscapes, birds. The 24x optical zoom is the same as a 600mm lens on a 35mm camera. Outstanding for those long distance pictures. And with the bright f2.8 lens all the way to 24x, you can even get excellent results in low light.

Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: Great zoom, Easy to use, Quality photos
Cons: Lack of detail in manual
Other Comments: I didn't have time to completely learn all the ins and outs of this camera before my trip, but was extremely happy with how the pictures turned out. I shot in low light and in sun, indoors, and action photos. All turned out excellent taking into consideration that I am not an expert. I am looking forward to exploring the features more and am very happy with this purchase.

Review submitted for Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ200K F2.8 12.1MP Constant Aperture Digital Camera with CMOS Sensor (PNDMCFZ200K)
Pros: F28 All The Way, Good image quality, Long Lens F28
Cons:
Other Comments: Image quality is good. It's not as good as my Nikon D800, but it's also a lot less expensive. Putting a lens this long on my D800 would cost 10 grand and weigh 12 pounds. When the D800 is too much, this camera steps in and takes over. I'm getting used to it and my photos are improving. Given a bit of post processing in Elements, I'm getting very good images. Image Stabilization is a godsend to an old man like me, especially at longer focal lengths.
