DMC-TS2Y LUMIX 14.1MP Waterproof Shockproof Freezeproof Digital Camera (Yellow)
(PNDMCTS2Y)
Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: Purchased camera for a trip to the Virgin Islands. I was really nervous that it would leak. The camera did great. Of course I did follow the directions. At times it was hard to see what you were taking a picture of. It took some practice taking pictures underwater. I think it was worth the purchase and I did get some good pictures.
Yes, I recommend this product

DMC-TS2Y LUMIX 14.1MP Waterproof Shockproof Freezeproof Digital Camera (Yellow)
(PNDMCTS2Y)
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Short Lag Time
Cons:
Other Comments: My experience with the TS2 has been mainly positive. It provides superb video for a camera in this class. Video Image Stabilization is very effective even as the camera is zoomed.
One drawback that is noted in both still and video is that reflections from the sun off the water or off a shiny surface cause the camera to display a vertical line across the entire image. This is probably due to it's folded optics lens design, and is not a huge problem unless you are trying to capture images of the reflection points on the water surface. The other oddity is a mild popping sound I experience with the audio when the camera shoots underwater video. The audio is clean when shooting video on land. Other reviewers have also complained that water has ruined their camera. I found that various reviewers have complained about this for all compact waterproof cameras, including the Canon D10. It is imperative that you keep the seals clean. Inspect them before you plan to enter the water. I've taken this camera below 8' on five occasions without incident.
Overall, the camera shoots high quality still photographs and superb video both on land and underwater. Other reviewers have compared the video quality to what they see in high end digital SLR cameras. As for still photography, colors are accurate and pictures are clear while shooting outdoors in daylight. The camera starts up and focuses very quickly, allowing you to capture the moment. I have not tested it in low light, but I plan to use my SLR for low light shooting anyways. I suspect, like most compact cameras, that low light shooting would result in image noise that would yield less than ideal shots. The flash is small and would probably require your subjects to be no more than 5-8' for better image quality.
This is a great "niche" camera for an outdoor enthusiast that needs a tough waterproof camera. As a bonus, you get superb video quality. If you need this type of a camera, it would be hard to find a better choice.
Yes, I recommend this product

DMC-TS2Y LUMIX 14.1MP Waterproof Shockproof Freezeproof Digital Camera (Yellow)
(PNDMCTS2Y)
Pros: Nice Body Color, Short Lag Time
Cons: Poor Image Quality
Other Comments: Everything looks attractive until you shoot a picture with it. Comapared to the Sony P200 which I purchased 5 years ago, the sharpness, color depth and contrast, TS2 has no comparison.

DMC-TS2Y LUMIX 14.1MP Waterproof Shockproof Freezeproof Digital Camera (Yellow)
(PNDMCTS2Y)
Pros: Great Zoom, Good Image Stabilization
Cons: Seems Fragile, Poor Image Quality
Other Comments: The picture quality on this camera doesn't compare to that of the regular Lumix that I own. Also, it seems more fragile and delicate then what is advertised by panasonic. After reading the instructions on care you have to give the camera after each use, the precautions you need to take during and after use plus the manner in which the shockproof tests are done, it's not as tough as they make it seem. I was almost scared to use it.
