The picture quality is outstanding. Dvd's look very, very nice. I'm sure blueray discs look awesome. Hd movies from cable look nearly 3d. The sound is not the greatest but is ok. I seem to constantly be turning it up to be able to hear the words but having to turn it down for sound effects and commercials. I formerly had a Sony Bravia and didn't have this problem.
