5 out of 5 stars   Sharp Lens, Great Bokeh

Review submitted for Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras (RO85MN)
Pros: Fast, Sharp, Easy To Use, Creamy bokeh
Cons: Bulky
Other Comments: This lens is sharp wide open at f1.4. The bokeh is the smoothest of any lens I have owned. This is an excellent lens all around. It is a little large on a micro four thirds body and of course it is manual focus and aperture control. If you are looking for manual focus lenses, this is a great one.

Review submitted for Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras (RO85MN)
Pros: Fast lens Good quality
Cons:
Other Comments: Bought this as portrait lens for Nikon D200 that could produce good bookeh. F1.4 lens design does the trick for a lot less than big name lenses.

Review submitted for Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras (RO85MN)
Pros: Light, Inexpensive, Solid
Cons: Unpredictable
Other Comments: I knew that I was getting a gem of a glass. Full manual and very old school. actually works great in aperture mode on my d2xs where the camera will auto shutter for exposure. Not bad for a manual lens. very blurry and unusable in low light full open. I knew I was getting a hard lens for full open but did not expect it to be this bad. Very chromatic and very hard to focus full open. even on items that out of the max range. focus for infinity range is very unstable for some reason. shooting a building from across the street full open at night would not come out sharp. had to step it to f2.8 for ok results and f4 for good. solid lens, heavy well made and sturdy. I hate and threw out in the first 15 minutes the lens cover. if you have the hood on there is no way to take off and put on the lens cover. So if you plan on using the hood get a pinch in front style lens cover like the ones that Nikon makes. this one has some things on the outer edges that you have to push inwards and there is no way, for my fingers anyway, to release the cover. so off comes the hood, which by the way is kind of a hassle to get on and off anyway, and take off the cover and put the hood back on, repeat as needed, or all the time for me as I like to have the cover on when not shooting. price was great, bokeh is fantastic the dof is just amazing and it is great even full open if you have enough light. over all a steal when comparing it to the Nikon and Sigma in the same bracket, yes they are auto focus but also 4-5 times more at least! great buy, get comfortable with manual controles and never look back! would recommend to anyone cool with manual.

Review submitted for Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 Aspherical Lens for Nikon DSLR Cameras (RO85MN)
Pros: Build Quality, Cost, Image Quality
Cons: No AF
Other Comments: I have wanted a portrait lens like this for a long time, but was put off by the high cost on Nikon glass. After seeing some excellent images in a Flickr group dedicated to this lens, I thought I'd give it a try. I would have to rate this lens as sensational for the price. Wonderful!
