Review submitted for Samsung UN46ES8000 46 inch 240hz 1080p 3D Smart LED HDTV with four pairs of 3D Glasses (SAMUN46ES8000)
Pros: Great Picture Quality
Cons: Unfriendly interface, Confusing / Bad Remote Control
Other Comments: I bought this tv because of the voice control and hand motion control. I'm fairly certain my tv is a lemon, but even if it were working correctly, the interface and remotes two remotes, IR booster, and screen menus) are confusing, not intuitive and clunky. And i'm pretty tech savvy so I don't believe it's a user issue (e.g i also got a new LG smart Tv and the interface is intuitive). Out of the box, the AV guys had trouble connecting it to the internet, it connected and disconnected on it's own. And after they left the problems continued, most notably it freezes and requires me to pull plug, but even worse, it turns on and off every 10 or 15 min. I thought this might be something triggering the voice activation feature, but i turned that off and still does it. I have no idea how to use the hand motion feature - set it up correctly, but cannot get it to work. Sometimes the navigation menus popup with no text displaying. I tried to connect to my set top box 4 times and it froze, restarted, etc. Again, these issues sound more like have a faulty tv, but even if it were working, it is not an easy tv to use. The menus are burdensome, navigation is tricky. There is a hand touch pad remote which appears to work on some features but not others, so you need to switch between remotes, and it is not a slick remote by any means. Kind of clunky. I own another samsung, and I like it. I think this product might have been rushed out the door - it was just released. I would highly recommend going to see a demo model and trying it out before buying. PS. I haven't tried the 3D feature. I gave up trying to figure things out.
