Pros: Sony has dominated the small point and shoot niche for decades with the DSC Cyber-Shot line. Using the compact W830 camera, most shots require no manual adjustments of the settings at all, but the controls are there if you want to dive in. Glad to see the move to in-camera recharging of the battery since it is not always convenient to remove the battery and place it in a recharge station. Also, gone are the days when one could only use a proprietary Sony Memory Stick - good move to mainstream. The compact size, excellent lenses, light weight and convenient controls make this a delight to use.
Cons: Be careful when sliding the release to access the battery and memory, as I have seen this plastic catch break off, requiring use of tape to keep the flap closed.
Other Comments: No one in the market is interested in producing these cameras now that everyone has a phone that can do snapshots almost anywhere. It is getting really hard to find new DSC-W830 cameras and many resellers are getting top dollar for them.

Pros: small size, lightweight
Cons: slow focus, shake resistance poor
Other Comments: sorry I bought it. Quality of photos not good, and focusing on the LCD screen makes for camera shake
