In order to use my older programs, especially work programs, I had to upgrade to Professional. Then I downloaded the XP virtual environment & everything work like a charm! Verified Purchase Review submitted for Toshiba Satellite A505-S6040 16.0 inch Notebook PC (TBA505S6040) Pros: Quiet, Fast, Lightweight, Powerful, Quality Display, Comfortable Keyboard Cons: Short Battery Life Other Comments: I use this laptop as an onlocation editing suite. This machine has what it takes to edit uncompressed HD footage in real time. The esata is great paired up with my 4 TB GRaid for bigger projects. I'm able to jump back and forth from my desktop and this laptop as I have my projects and project files on my GRaid harddrive. The only con is the short battery life, especially for me since I am running the high performance power option. Simple fix: just bring your power chord with you and plug it in. I've never found myself editing in the middle of a desert with no power supply. I reccomend this laptop. I probably don't need to mention how great windows 7 is also.
