It proved lightweight, fast enough and convenient at the airports and hotels. It even fit inconspicuously in my backpack. It's ULTRA-Portable - great for her. I got around the no CD-Rom issue by creating .iso files of any CD/DVD/Software on my PC & then transferring them over to the Toshiba mini-network over Windows 7 included networking (works w/ Vista PC & other laptop). Using a simple CD/DVD emulator software for the netbook 'mounts' the .iso files & plays them as if it had a CD/DVD-Rom - GREAT for installing software you buy on CD/DVD!   Useful little notebook By Marek on July 18, 2010 Review submitted for Toshiba Satellite T115D-S1125 11.6 inch Notebook PC (TBT115DS1125) Pros: Lightweight, Fast, Powerful, Comfortable Keyboard, Long Battery Life Cons: Too Hot Other Comments: This is one very practical and powerful notebook in a little package. Have it for about a week. Bought it to have lightweight book-reading/multimedia entertainment platform for lunch breaks at work and for a leisure time on sofa in my living room. Mostly use it for networking, offline news reading (via RSS reader), e-book reading (via PC software versions of e-book readers) and multimedia (streaming music/internet radio, MP3, pictures). CONS: There are few cons but it is to be expected from a notebook this small. It gets pretty hot (I suppose it is rather typical for CPU-s from this particular manufacturer) and the fact that the blow vent is on the left side does not help (I usually rest my left hand there, while right hand is busy with the touch-pad, may not be such an issue for the left-handed people). Also, the screen will not open fully flat (180 deg) and as a result the view angle (when I rest the notebook on my lap) seems to be not enough to enjoy full screen's contrast. I have to tip it a little bit sometimes risking the fall and damage. Works fine if I have a tabletop/desk to put the laptop on. Not much use for graphic accelerator with the screen so small unless you connect this baby to a HD TV or a monitor. Also the built-in speakers are a joke, better buy a good quality headphones. PROS: Battery life is great and as claimed by manufacturer. HDMI and VGA output make this notebook useful as a portable entertainment center for your living room. Small and lightweight fits in my backpack with lots of other junk I carry. SD card reader and USB ports work flawlessly. Built in web cam and microphone are definitely a plus although not a big deal these days, this is pretty much standard. Overall experience is very pleasant, very nice machine indeed. After experience with Windows Vista, Windows 7 64 bit is a pleasant surprise. Fast and reliable. I take it almost everywhere with me, my wife starts to be jealous ;-) I will try not to forget and update this review after a month's use and after a year.
