5 out of 5 stars   Purchase Review
By Steve B. on June 28, 2016
Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens Pro Kit for Nikon Cameras (E1TM1630035DIN)
Pros: I liked the lens, the price, and the package that came with it ... although I did not need some of the stuff in the package. The rep on the phone was a delight to work with and provided all the info I asked for regarding the product, shipping, etc. So ... YES, if I had some other camera item to buy, I'd return to Beach Camera!

4 out of 5 stars   Better than I expected

Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Nikon Cameras (TM1630035DIN)
Pros: Great image quality Faster than expected
Cons: Not as fast as focusing as Nikon (but not slow).
Other Comments: I have only used it once so far at a cross country off road motorcycle race and it performed better than expected. I bought this to replace my first version 18-200 Nikon. I wasn't expecting it to focus as fast as the Nikon (expecting to miss a lot of shots), but it wasn't far off. I only missed one shot out of almost 400. It was a sunny day (with a polarizer), so a cloudy, misty event might change my thoughts. I usually shoot with a faster (f2.8) lens on rainy/misty/cloudy days anyway. I did notice the extra abilities at both ends of the lens compared to the 18-200, so that was nice also.

5 out of 5 stars   Nice Travel Lens
By Ezman on December 17, 2015
Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon EF-S Cameras (TM1630035DIC)
Pros: Light weight Great zoom Almost same exact size/weight as my Canon 18-135STM lens
Cons: Not tack sharp (but I knew that going in) but still good enough especially after post processing Lens zoom twists the opposite of every lens I've ever owned. Why Tamron?
Other Comments: I bought this lens for my Canon 70D a week before heading to Disney World around Thanksgiving. I didn't want to carry a bag full of camera gear because it was Disney and I wanted to also enjoy the trip not spend the time reaching for my camera bag! I was very skeptical because I had read a lot of mixed reviews on the lens. But my wife is not a camera expert and never changes lenses, so why we're traveling this lens does all the work. Yes if you pixel peep it's not an L lens but for the price ($499 after rebates) who can argue with an 18.8x zoom! I will say having the focus wheel twist the opposite of every other lens I've ever own was weird. But once you got use to it the lens is very tight. Does it suffer from some chromatic aberration ... yes. But with so much post processing software out there it's not a big deal to fix. I take JPG/RAW on every shot so putting shots in light room is a snap. If you're looking for a great lens to carry around for most shots this is your guy. If you're a professional taking wedding pictures you're not even going to bother looking at this lens because you would know better. What surprised me was it's size. I bought the Canon 70D with the kit 18-135 STM lens. This lens is almost identical in size with it and the comprise of picture quality is almost a wash! At this point I'll test this guy out a few more months and probably put my 18-135 STM lens up on Ebay.

5 out of 5 stars   Great "little" lens
October 29, 2015
Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon EF-S Cameras (TM1630035DIC)
Pros: lightweight good focus from macro to 300mm smooth action
Cons: wish it was to 400mm
Other Comments: I bought this to replace my heavy 75-300mm lens. I love my old lens, but always have had to carry 2 lenses. This Tamron has given me the ability to shoot a full range of distances with a much lighter lens.

4 out of 5 stars   So Far So Good
By Bill on April 30, 2015
Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon EF-S Cameras (TM1630035DIC)
Pros: The lens is compact and easy to use. The image quality is good through the 16-300 range . Not being a professional I can get suitable photos (mostly vacation photos) with one lens.
Cons: The lens is not as sharp as a prime lens but is really good. Is a good compromise.
Other Comments: Be sure to use a shutter speed compatible with long focal lengths. I have another brand super zoom and this one is much sharper.

2 out of 5 stars   Tamron 16-300mm Lens Not For Me
By RadioWhiz on February 08, 2015

Review submitted for Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD MACRO Lens for Canon EF-S Cameras (TM1630035DIC)
Pros: Light, compact, f/3.5, 300mm
Cons: Not sharp even in center at any focal length or f stop. Serious color problems at edges. Poor focus in low light.
Other Comments: I am comparing this to a Canon 15-85mm lens and a Canon f4.0L 70-200mm lens. Was looking for a single lens alternative.
