It did require me to run a new network line from the router to behind her television, but, after that setup and use is a breeze. She can now watch YouTube, listen to Pandora and stream content from Netflix. The learning curve is not steep at all. Fairly intuitive menus and a simple remote make operating the WDTV Live Plus uncomplicated. Between the streaming media and the content on our home server she says she "may never leave her couch again." *grin* On a more technical note, the lag/cache time has only been noticeable when she's streaming Netflix and I'm downloading large files. We haven't run into any common codecs the wdtv can't handle. It does fine on ogg, ac3, divx, mkv, xvid and everything else we've thrown at it. When the modded XBOX with XBOX media player I use for streaming dies, we'll definitely be replacing it with a WDTV Live Plus. My wife, that is technically challenged, was able to use it without a lesson (a first in my house). I wish the remote was better but not a deal breaker.
