I use the XTR-690SE for daily driving in Chicago. I alternate between city/highway modes and the detector works perfectly. It is very sensitive, but I prefer it that way. I love the compass feature (since I do not have the option on my car) but it is a pain to recalibrate if it is removed from the car. As long as you keep it in the same vehicle it works great. I also like the "talking" feature. I did a lot of research before buying the XTR-690SE and it was the best deal out there. I highly recommend it!
