Review submitted for Blue Yeti Pro USB Condenser Microphone, Multipattern, 988-000092 (BLMYETIPRO)
Pros: Amazing sound quality and great at avoiding background noise. Comes with a very useful headphone monitor port and a verry versatile selection on pickup patterns with a nice hardware gain control dial. It is also use able through XLR if you didnt want to use USB which is also great to have the option. It comes with a stereo XLR cable which is great for those that don't have cables for stereo since most don't use it.
Cons: Its really big so most other mic holders won't be able to won't fit it and will most likely need a custom one for it. The stand that comes with the mic picks up every bit of vibration and noise from where it's placed so if you have it on your desk and you type it WI ill pick up the vibration which is audible even tho it might not pick up the keyboard typing itself so you really need a shock mount for this to perform well
Other Comments: Great mic overall but a bit pricy for the sound quality you get from it since it is only slightly better than others around it price range but that's due to its options it has so if the extra features are useful to you then the price is worth it if you don't need the extra features then get another mic.
I recommend this product Yes, I recommend this product

1 out of 5 stars   Yeti-Pro has serious design flaws

Pros: Dual Interface
Cons: Is Not Plug Play Usb, Too Many Bad User Reviews, DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, Does not work as expected, Many Bad Units Shipped, Not Plug Play Usb
Other Comments: I have a syndicated western music radio show. I produce Calling All Cowboys (www.KPOV.org) weekly using a Sure mic and an analog mixer. I have been on the air for 8 years and I was also in an acoustic band for 8 years. I have used dozens of different mic set ups during that time. I am starting a new program and wanted a better, more versatile mic. One that did not require a mixer for field recordings yet could be used for live gigging and in-studio use. The Yeti-Pro seemed the best of both worlds. I bought this mic based on professional reviews. WRONG! The reviewers must have been provided "sweetened" or pre-tested mics. I should have read the hundreds of USER reviews that point out serious problems with this mic. 1) I really had to do a LOT of screwing around to get my Macbook Pro to recognize this mic via USB. Multiple restarts, cable changes, audio in changes, etc. Then it would not stay recognized requiring more fussing around. USB is supposed to be plug & play. This device is not. 2) The volume throughput levels via USB are so low as to make voice over, podcasting or broadcasting use worthless. Supposedly, upping your MIDI settings to the max solves the problem. It did not. The audio was distorted. 3) Blue has offerred this lame excuse: the Yeti-Pros were meant to be used for high-decible recording situations. If you send in your mic they will tweak it for simple broadcast use at no charge. Users report that this does not always fix the problem. 3) Switching to an analog mixer using phantom power was no better. The inverse happened. The volume levels were so HOT that I had to turn the gain all the way down on the mic and the mixer. And even then clipping occurred if your raised your voice at all. There are serious design flaws with this mic and until Blue owns up to the flaws and does a recall of all existing mics and fixes the problem so that the Yeti-Pro works like a "normal" mic my advice to you is to stay away from it. It cost me almost $18 in return shipping to find this out. I am NOT a happy camper. And I will be avoiding Blue mics in the future.
