Review submitted for Chicago Cutlery Insignia2 18-Piece Knife Block Set with In-Block Knife Sharpener - 1068062 (CHC1068062)
Pros:
Cons: Cheap logo printing, Poorly constructed block, Hollow plastic handles, Cracked handles, Nicks in blade
Other Comments: I read about what good quality these knives were. I had the opposite experience. I pulled the knives out and two of the handles were cracked to pieces, which is where I discovered that the handles were hollow plastic! Many of the blades had nicks straight out of the box. The Chicago Cutlery logo printed on the blade was terrible and inconsistent. It made them look very cheap. The block was awful quality. The slots cut for the knives were sloppy and the block had dried wood glue squeezed out of the seems and the metal badge on the front was off center. Overall, this set was just horrible quality. I was shocked. I called Buydig.com to tell them I thought maybe the set was a [*]knockoff or something and they insisted that the set came directly from the manufacturer. That being the case, I recommend staying away from this terrible set. I returned it to Buydig.com and they refunded my money. Buydig.com was very good about the return. The best return experience I've ever had in fact. I will buy from them again. Just not this poorly constructed, low quality cutlery set!
