Other Comments: We were very happy with our last Canon, an A570IS. The optical image stabilization on that camera was a main feature we had to have on our next camera because of how well it prevents fuzzy shots from shaky hands. Note that this is different than digital image stabilization. Optical IS is far better. We also wanted a still camera that could shoot HD video to capture our growing kids. Finally, a nice size, that could be slipped into a pocket. This 960IS fits all of those requirements. We were between this camera and the 780IS. Difference being the 780IS was slightly smaller and slightly cheaper, but only had a 3x optical zoom instead of this camera's 4x. I think we made the right choice. Ours is gold, and it's a nice hue that is gender neutral and upscale. If I have to nitpic to find something to improve, the only thing I can think of is that when you use the flash in "auto" mode as we usually do, in medium-light situations it will tend to turn the flash OFF. The A570IS we had before, would usually turn the flash ON in those borderline conditions. With the flash off, usually you get a good picture with natural lighting, but sometimes its not quite right (subject dark) and you have to re-shoot with flash turned on. Not a huge deal.
