Pros: Great price, Great zoom, Easy to use, Versatile
Cons:
Other Comments: I love to take creative photos, but I don't care to lug around a big camera with big lenses. This camera gives me everything I need in compact camera. The picture quality has been very impressive.

Pros: A Great Little Camera
Cons: No Optical Viewfinder
Other Comments: I prefer an optical viewfinder on any camera especially on bright days when the screen is hard to see. The SX260 does not have one!

5 out of 5 stars   Highly recommend for a "picture taker"
By beach girl on August 01, 2012
Review submitted for Canon PowerShot SX260 HS Green Digital Camera 20x Optical Zoom 1080p Video (CNPSSX260HSGN)
Pros: Size, Zoom
Cons:
Other Comments: I searched and searched for a small camera to take to Africa. I am a "picture taker" not a photographer and this camera was excellent. I went through the manual on the computer and picked the features I knew I would want to use. I am so pleased with my pictures--and the 20x zoom is outstanding. I used the greater zoom but it is difficult to hold it steady to get a good picture. I haven't used the GPS and really didn't want it, but I'll figure it out. I highly recommend this camera if you just want to take "good" pictures.

4 out of 5 stars   Not a Camera for Complete Novice

Review submitted for Canon PowerShot SX260 HS Green Digital Camera 20x Optical Zoom 1080p Video (CNPSSX260HSGN)
Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: I have owned several Canon Powershot Cameras and helped people purchase over 70 of these. This camera is a little more intricate than my last two and a little harder to figure out than the SD870 IS and the later SD950 IS with 4X and 5X optical zoom. I decided to get this 20X optical Zoom camera to shoot wildlife when I am working in the big woods. It reaches way out there but you have to be a genius to hand hold it at greater zoom levels. Probably should be on a tripod or a monopod with a 2 second self-portrait setting so you don't move the camera. I do not like the NEW OPTION to delete photos in a group from the SD Card in this camera. Historically in these cameras you can choose ERASE BY DATE and just dump all 350 photos from yesterdays event. Now you must pick a photo number to start at and then a number to end at, while holding the camera in the field, and then delete the group. This is a poor option compared to how simple it always was. The Old Cameras used a wonderful program called ZOOM BROWSER and it started up as soon as you disconnected the camera from the computer after downloading same. Not the new program...You have to physically start Zoom Browser that you already own instead of it starting automatically. Why is this a big deal to me as it is only an extra move..? I shoot 40,000 photos a year and want these programs to run like clockwork. The camera is always in my top left shirt pocket with the hand strap extended by the Canon Metal Neck Strap so I can pull it out and just shoot quickly. This camera body is a little heavier and slightly thicker than the older models because of the bigger zoom lens. My SD950 IS is at Canon's Repair facility and when it gets back in a few days I will retire this camera to my home and carry the smaller body camera for comfort. Like I said, I carry this camera all day every day everywhere. Normally folks do not do that. Basicilly I would reccomend that the adverage person buy any Canon Powershot Camera up to a 5X optical Zoom and the ease of use is great. These cameras are really point and shoot and you will look like a pro always and the size lets you take it in your pocketbook or pocket to events and therefore you will use it a lot. The photos are stunning from people to sunsets. Most are 10 to 12 Megipixls and that is way more than needed. The Canon Software is excellent and easy to use, just make sure to name today's dated photo folder TODAY so that after a few years you have an organized file and not a big pile of photos like your parents had in a box in the attic..! The results are perfect and this amount of zoom would be frustrating to a novice in my opinion after 74 of the other models without one complaint. The panoromas I take without a tripod are perfect as the photo stitch part of their program is super.

Pros:
Cons:
Other Comments: We've used Canon cameras for going on 20 years. We bought this one to replace a PowerShot A720 that ran on AA batteries and was constantly telling us to replace batteries, even when they were fairly new. Now we're back to proprietary batteries and hopefully won't re-encounter that problem.
